TR 280
Thanks Andy for speaking up about this and sharing that knowledge with us. I know there's always a political concerns (shall we say) when we speak up with what we know. But there's no doubt in my mind that manufactures, honest resellers and buyer will all benefit in the long run. Best of balance. Neo

Leaky rad
Great tip gents .... can't wait for my rad to leak just so I can try it Those rad clips that Sherco use are hard to get back on and I prefer the the traditional jubilee clips anyway. So I use the old clips on (and over) any rub/wear area on the hoses and that stops it wearing. The hose behind the header pipe (that comes up from the water pump) is the most vulnerable. Are you guys using Rapid Set or the original (slow) Araldite? Best of balance. Neo

Personally guys I think that messing around with the ignition or port timing to this degrees gives some unpredictable performance characteristics and side effects. I also think it's a shame to lift the pot on such a new engine. And with this goal I think the Boyenson Reeds are a waste of time .... I actually got more power (not less) when I fitted mine. Leave that nice new engine alone. Just fit the 24mm OKO. It's not expensive, it requires no special tools (puller or torque wrench), it's easily removed and it's easily resold. Best of balance. Neo

TR 280
If a manufacture is aware of an issue he can fix it on the production line as early as possible and potentially have less bikes to recall or issue mods for .... That's saving a ton of trouble. Sorry Nigel I'm just not up on the politics or the who's who. I tend to believe that the majority of folk will do the right thing and spare myself the constant concern of doubt. And if anyone was aiming to intentionally discredit the TR280 I think they would have been much more active in this Ossa Group by now. Best of balance. Neo

TR 280
I can understand how information that is not "independent thorough and unbiased" can be misleading and create some inconvenience but on a well subscribed forum (like this one) that information will normally be short lived....So I can't see how it would cause a "ton of trouble" for it's forum members? I also believe that any forum that seeks to control what it's members speak of (or question) for fear of political repercussion is off it's cotton socks and risks being replaced by a more open forum. TR 280
I know what you saying here Andy but it's information like joostio's that saves everyone (manufacture, reseller and buyer) a ton of trouble. And in this day and age anyone that tries to tuck this stuff under the carpet is a fool to themselves. Best of balance. Neo

Did you buy a new MC and or just a new MC rubber boot? Best of balance. Neo

brakes again!
Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the same AJP MC that's been used on many Trials bikes for many years now. Most of which give little trouble. And that rubber boot you mentioned never lets anything go past it .....unless it was defective in some way or the two screws on the cap were loose ?? Best of balance. Neo

brakes again!

brakes again!
Get the calliper off and in a good vice. Cut a slot down the middle of the head of the bolt (not too deep) with metal cutting blade on and angle grinder. Then use an impact driver (fat screwdriver bit) to to undo the bolt. Then take the calliper halves to a car brake repair place and they'll pull the pistons out with ease. But I too can't understand why you'd need to do all this on such a new bike Best of balance. Neo

Has anyone fitted a cooling Kit?
Of couse it has a bloody (working) thermostat If you read the website gents .. "The result is a better fuel mixture that remains stable even after long climbs almost completely by decreasing the classic knock which has a very hot engine". On hot days I've experienced that "Classic Knock" many times on three different bikes (2 Sherco and one Beta) after a long ride with 6 different carbs fitted (at different times) too. This guy has obviously experience the same issue. Otherwise he wouldn't bother making this cooling kit. It's only a mild knock and it's not a big problem but there has been no explanation to this issue until now ... So it's worth giving this a go I think. Best of balance. Neo
