  2. hi, i'm using a k&n type filter on my honda, and was looking at these foam type ones....do you recon they're better? as regards the C15 running lumpy at 1/4 throttle, this sounds like its rich....is the float set a bit too high, or do you need a bigger cut away on the slide perhaps? as a no cost try it solution ,try dropping the needle, and also the pilot air screw should be 1 1/2 turns out....this would let more air in the pilot mix which might help the 1/4 throttle transition.
  3. hi, as far as i understand it, the quality of the synthetic 2 stroke oil is so much better than the old sh*te we used to use years ago, that 50:1 was the recomendation........i may have been missinformed? got to be lots of you using modern oil in old smokers, what do you recon?

LOL....i used to do trials back in the '70's, when the only thing available was the dunlop safety wellies as used by the fire brigade etc. have tried modern leather boots, but they just not what i'm used to, so got these safety gum boots (steel toe and steel insteep plate), and they only $50!!!!!
  5. hi ross,you are correct in that the steering angle has been tightened up, but the swinger is standard, just with the wheel as far forward as it will go. the history of this bike is that it was a farm bike, and got run over by a tractor....so was pretty bent when i got it. so it seemed that while i was straightening out the frame, i might as well tweek it to make it into a trials bike.i'm very pleased with the result , not sure what the weight is but it's quite light and very usable. did it's first trial a couple of weeks ago (classic/ post classic)and performed well.....and was great fun. here's a few pics from the cust reunion trial.

  7. Hi, ex yorkshireman and trials rider from back in the '70's (325 bultaco), now living in the south island of new zealand. Just getting back into the off road stuff, after years of road riding. Built myself a classic style trials out of a XL 200 which had been run over by a tractor .....it was a wee bit bent !!!! but it's straightened up and morphed into a trials bike quite well .Had a few practice rides to sort out a few things with set up, and the old technique is coming back nicely. First trial in a couple of weeks, looking forward to it. Will try and put some pictures of the bike on forum.....when i've worked out how, will proberbly be in the honda section. cheers Trev
