You would have to do alot of mods if you were going a decent speed! the centre of gravity is all wrong, the suspension has no high speed damping, tyre profile is too high, steering angle too short, steering too high, seat too low for throwing you weight, it would be the worst downhill tool ever lol it would be great fun though and id love a go!

Thanks for the reply Once t.o.r have put their finders tax on, the bike wont be so attractive anymore i never pay the middle man it keeps me up at night!

im looking to buy a gas gas 250 around an 05 to start on have they had or are they renound for any issues ie stators coil faults gearbox probs etc...?

How much should i be paying for a 2005 250 sherco of average quailty? Looking around it varies quite alot!

Why concider using a trials bike for anything other than what its designed for?

Thats what i like to here after 7 years of mx/xc/enduro! The four strokes are crippling the sport through maintainance costs and noise,hopfully trials doesnt go down the fourstroke pipe quite as fast

I was looking to buy a sherco 290 but after going to a local meet and seeing 75% riders on Beta and only 2 shercos alarm bells were ringing,thought there must be a monetry(if thats a word) reason for avoiding them!

Has any one noticed a vast difference in maintainance costs and parts prices between the major manufactorers? Im completly stuck as to which bike to buy relyability and parts costs are worth knowing any advise welcome
