All fair comments,
its just what ive noticed while bike hunting recently!
You could argue they see more work because they never brake down or the riders are a better class etc etc...
-
Why do gasgas seem to age prematurly ie. rusty spokes/bolts/general wear and tare?
Its not just gasgas ive noticed sherco are equaly poor build quality too!,montesa and scorpa are very good in comparison, is the reduced weight really worth it?
-
Hi,
why do you think "top-end/little end"?
From my experience if the rattle occurs under load on the gas it will be your bottom end!
Top end rattles are more noticable on the run-down and on throttle off.
Is there noticable vibration through the bars,do you get a tickling sensation through the jewls while sat on the bike?
-
250cc nothing more nothing less!
-
Im a massive Montesa fan due to it being a well built and very reliable jap bike,by no means are they dated good riders could stand up to anything else on one and regularly do! lampkin did his best work on one.
Dont forget yamahas scorpa another very reliable jap bike, has very good reviews!
-
Just lay a plastic sheet down and throw the bike in there dont mess around with the wheels and forks theres no need! a friend put his cr125 in the back of his astra hatchback, seats down bike in no issues apart from the carb emptying its contents

Hi,
your fz front tyre is fitted the incorrect way,the rotation is pointing backwards.

I guess you think my pricing is dated thanks for explaning yourself in a mature manner ,

I thought that was cheap!
in comparison a sherco 250/290 crank is on average
-
It will just need tweeking to your ride style, slow reaction throttle, different size sprockets etc..
mines super smooth and is a serious contender to any gasgas sherco, enjoy.
-
They are not the same mate i researched this for a friend some time ago all the cr250 rods are too long!there are some very close matches ie; old ktm rods but i never found a perfect match.
the complete honda crank is

Theres loads of rev-3s around,i viewed a load of them and rode one i wasnt impressed with the overall quailty of them so bought a montesa 315r but thats my personal opinion!

-
Great choice! i just bought the 315r and have only ridden a few times on it but its a fantastic bike really easy controlled and confidence inspiring, have fun mate.
-
Hi ,
no the engine is not the same or even similar to the cr250,
you shouldnt have problems with parts try sandifords honda/montesa or pidcocks honda
-
I managed to find a very low hour monty 315r 2003 in someones wood shed, still on original tyres etc.. defo worth the wait!

i have been running a fiat dispatch van as my every day car and bike carrier on a weekend,
good on fuel drives like a car cheaper insurance than your average car and takes 3 mx bikes so would defo fit 3-4 trials bikes in there.
I had a bike rack for years on the back of my astra and never had any issues.
