condensers breaking down due to overheating is a problem on these bikes most have had them moved if yours has not been done it is a good time to do it if you are replacing points to move it up to near the coil to keep cool

had similar with mine its also in a shed and i had oil in those places as well mine was fuel leaking from carb and evaporating leaving oil residue only reason i found this was the oil was blue

try a diferent grade of plug b7 or b6
