  1. hi i'm quite new to trials and found out the hard way about the clutch drag, when i stuck it in gear for the first time and hurtled towards the car in front of me,so i read alot about with lots of views,so i decided on renewing the steels and fibre plates with the apico type from bvm,i also cleaned the grooves out of the fibre plates {a very time consuming job}and oil i used was the p1 clutch tuner, and i have been out twice now and its great, but one point which i had read about previously was that the apico plates are slightly thicker and when the clutch is pulled in fully the pressure plate rubs on the inside of the case, not sure on how to rectify this,i just got into the habit of not pulling it all the way in until it wears in a bit, can't beleive the messing it requires though.
  2. sorted it out ,it was the float level,to tangs were a little bent, rode it today and it wa a different bike.
  3. cheers for the reply,i checked if the slide was returning, which it is ,i'll check the circlip, the routing of the cable was one thing i kept checking and the best route was at 10 oclock and over the top of the frame brace, the tank doesnt seem to pinch it there, but why would it rev when tipped to either side cheers andy
  4. just been out for the first time on my Montesa, had a great time, but had problems with the carb,i'd already cleaned and blew all the jets through and treated it to a new filter and throttle cable, the problem was that if you lent the bike to either side the revs went up and wouldnt settle down again, the cable wasnt trapped, the throttle wasnt returning straight away but the slide was, could it be the float level or the needle not shutting off. the carb wasnt overflowing,if you opened the throttle past quarter open the revs would increase on their own,got to be a carb issue of sorts, but what ?,we would like to go out again on sunday,so i got to sort it cheers andy
  5. yes seems to be the achilis heel with this bike, maybe mikuni make something,i guess i'll have to look into it,soon otherwise my lad will grow out of his riding gear, cheers andy
  6. what alternatives are there instead of the standard carb, the usuall not idling issue so thinking of changing it to a better alternative, and has anyone managed to fit a limiter to the throttle,i;m trying to teach my 7 year old,but hes a bit frightened of going to fast, with the standard carb i cant get a plastic tube to restrict the cable, any idea's cheers andy
  7. great, thanks for your replys, sounds great mike, unfortunately i got to do the fork seals on the scorpa first, but it should be good to go after that,i'll definately let you know when i'm thinking of going down,i may pop over this weekend ust to have a look, cheers andy
