  1. Hello from someone in norfolk!

I would have been at the dabbers this weekend but sadly cant make it; Its a friendly club, and well worth joining. I did my first trial with them this January and observed at the last trial. They are primarily set up for pre-mono bikes though, so spaces for mono's at trials are limited - they are however looking at running more for mono's in the future.

    Go you steady,

    Andrew

  2. Hi there, i had this with my gasser and found that you can put a washer or two, with a small bit of rubber on the first fixing from the tailpipe to the frame, it moves the tailpipe out by about 1" preventing the rubbing altogether, it will eventually rub through the exhaust and start allowing water and crap into it, if you dont do anything with it.

    Hope this helps. :D

although I dont worry about it, that sounds like a good thing to do - thanks for that.

  3. Mine does it as well, especially when landing off the sleeper pile. I dont worry about it. maybe put a sticker on the face of the exhaust to see how much rub you actually get?

    personally, I wouldn't worry...............

.............. I worry more about chain rub when I have a fat supermoto wheel on the dirtbike, but thats kind of normal too ;)

  4. Model of bike - txt pro

    Engine size - 250

    Year of bike - 2005

Transmission fluid used - putoline light gear oil

Did you change type of oil - What type did you change from and to, are you happy with results - from atf to putoline nano tech to putoline light gear oil. Happy with results of light gear oil.

How often (hours) changed - every 10 hrs

Clutch feel - great! with LHM for hydraulic oil

Usual riding terrain - varied but no monster long hills.

  5. After riding some 'home-made' sections at my mates place yesterday, the Gas Gas has been treated to new gearbox oil and brake fluid front and rear (not sure that this has been ever changed judging by the condition of it ['marmalade']).

I am using putoline light gear oil again and am pleased with how it makes the bike feel.

On the fettling front, I have cut out the reinforcing sections on the underside of a repaired rear fender; this makes it super flexible to the extent that it does this without cracking.............. this was tried and tested yesterday on at least a couple of occasions :o

  6. ok ok ok! I get the concensus opinion that its the right move ;-] ........... if its as good as i think, it'll be in the shed by next weekend........ I will report back, but please dont stop the words of wisdom.

  7. Thanks Technwaldo,

wow. nice bike............... is that unrestored but just in minty condition? I think that the pic of the one that I am interested in looks a bit bleached out - yours looks much more vibrant................. any tips about what to look for on this bike - aside from the usual?

    cheers.

  8. Hi all,

I own a gas gas txt pro but am looking at a fantic 200 so I can do trials with the local club...............

................ basically, is the 1981 200 a good bike and is it a good twin shock for someone that has only been riding (or attempting to) ride trials since latter end of last year?

I havent seen the bike yet, but it belongs to one of the club organisers, has had an engine rebuild and has not been 'restored'

    thanks

    Andrew
