    Rev3 Gearing

Mags, I completely agree, I'm just wanting to try combinations of stuff to find my own level. As its a second hand bike and I'm relatively new, I don't know what's right or wrong. For instance, I want to raise the bars up slightly as my back hurts after a while, I get blisters after a few hours from gripping on so need to work out where to loosen off and be comfortable etc. All this can only be achieved by trial and error, and if its rubbish, its only a matter of putting the load parts back on.

Well I thought that front sprockets are only a Tenner. Its meant to be an 11 so I'll go up 1 more to a 12. If I don't like it I'll buy the 11 and nothing lost. I will end up with all sorts of gearing I would imagine. When I out grow this bike I want the evo 200 so the gearing will cross over. I do really love the 200 and just want to get it to feel really right.

    So I'm home, The gearing is 10 - 41 Think I will buy a 12 for it.
  4. My ACU license is 12 months out of date from road racing, I'll look into renewal for trials.
  5. that's spot on really, im from Rawdon and pop up there to see my parents so I can do it all in 1 go. that is great info thanks. do you have links to which clubs I would need to speak to or is it just turn up and pay to ride? thanks.

so standard on a 2006 200 should be 11-42? I wont change the rear 41 then as I don't need any more torque yet. maybe when I have more ability and require a full throttle clutch dump. that is if it actually has an 11 on the front. my son was struggling to see.
  8. endure is not my thing, the track we have is predominantly for those lads, been out on a few of the bikes, way too fast and out of control for my liking. after road racing for years I bought the trials to slow things down and do more technique. just been watching some UK novice stuff on youtube, think I may give it a bash.

ive just phoned my lad and hes told me the rear has a 42t on, but the guard is obscuring the front. if its a 41 std then that's a start.

    Rev3 Gearing

ill have a look tomorrow, I used to set off in 2nd when I first got it but it runs out very quickly so I just use 3rd. I we just thinking of possibly increasing a tooth at the front to make the final ratio slightly taller.
  11. that's an interesting question as I wonder about that measure myself. book states 12.5% = 75ml per 5 litres is that what everyone else uses? mine doesn't got massive high revs for standing jumps or anything like that. sorry for the mini hijacking.

    Rev3 Gearing

now im new-ish to trials, but know a little about road racing. I have found that the final drive gearing is weird. I ride a rev3 200, first gear is a complete waste of time and unusable. what front - rear sprocket sizes are 1 standard and 2 best to use? I cannot confirm what I have on it until tomorrow, but they are after market sprockets so not complete std. cheers, Paul
  13. yeah been to bumpy a fair few times, but it gets boring after a while.
  14. I do ride slower too, just don't have any video of that. I started with the figure of 8 etc, stopping and balancing, but I cant do that consistently. getting over objects is my problem. up to about 2' is fine, anything else I smash the bash plate into, I just cant seem to learn the technique without instruction. im naturally terrible at balancing so I try to get that better, bouncing the front is my next challenge on my street in an evening starting Monday. Im going to go to horsforth on sunday as I have pals who have bikes and ride there, I will try learn some bits from them.
  15. Hi, Here goes, I have never seen any trials apart from the pro stuff on tv and youtube. The thing is, I don't know if I have any ability to go and join in a trial, if so, what level/experience? Ive put up a video of me on the area near my work, but its more sort of moto X/Enduro. Anyway honest feedback and if so, places to join in. wakefield or Wiltshire/Hampshire. thanks, Paul Video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iW2mP13dxuY
