Many thanks to all of you who sent me replies both helpful and otherwise. I'm pleased to announce that having put in a new plug as per the manual having first got a spanner that fits from Splat Shop the bike runs and starts as it should. Just as confirmation will try to post a video tomorrow.

Many thanks Steve I'm waiting for a plug spanner to arrive from Splat Shop then going to try new plug. If that has no affect then I will take you up on your kind offer and ring you. I really want to ride the bike and I'm getting so frustrated as want to do a trial on Easter Sunday!!!

Thanks jimmywelk and all the other replies I'll try them all and post tomorrow if I succeed,if not looks like I have bought a pup and at my age too!!!! Will talk to seller and see what he say's, seemed genuine he did say there was a knack to it !!! Clearly I haven't found it yet!!!!

dadof2 is that the plug as stated in the pdf handbook with three prongs? I have bought one but didn't realise how unaccesable the plug was!!!! Looking to find a box spanner to fit and investigate.

Gooseneck.....tried the full open option and managed a backfire from exhaust(Don't Laugh) best Iv'e done so far.

Hi....purchased a 2009 4t last week as wanted to go down four stroke route for a change but really frustrated as can't get it to start,it ran fine when the seller fired it up and it sounded sweet as a nut.Have watched videos online but try as I may cant get it fire up. Can anyone offer advice apart from go back to 2t!!!!!

As 2stroke4stroke has said get the disc hot and pour water on the disc, brake will then bite really well I have had two pre four pot monts and both had problem. The other way is fit the four pot caliper.

Hi I ride a Montesa but have to agree with Lewis I have used the Putoline Light gear for the last two years and it's been fine. Hope this helps.

Like trialnick just got back from Sheffield after a great nights entertainment. Didn't have a problem with the commentary (I'm in Sussex)but as posted earlier not sure about the new format. Would also like to wish Jack a speedy recovery.
