  1. I just put the pretend Mikuni on my TLR....it is such a vast improvement on the stock Keihin I really can't believe it. I have the alloy WES exhaust system and an aftermarket air cleaner, just a little canister. I just started it up today for the first time. It was absolutely perfect. After riding for about five minutes I had to take the idle down a bit, but that was all. No stalling...no peeing gas...no backfires...and a rock steady response from idle. I couldn't be happier

    Bean Oil

I haven't operated a two stroke for about twenty years. Prior to that I used bean oil almost exclusively...on a TM 250, a RH 67..Bultaco Lobito...Montesa Impala...and lastly a Kawasaki Trials Bike...a KT 250...now I'm back in the two stroke business with a Bultaco Campera. Should I still use bean oil...at 20-1, could I use a leaner mixture 32-1 or should I stick to synthetic at 30-1 or 50-1??? Thanks in advance Mike
  3. Good News...I no longer have a spare XR200 cable. With not much work with my Dremel I was able to free the cable from the carb top and then all I had to do was to grind down the ferruel on the carb end of the cable to fit into the fake Mikuni...all is well. Now I'm just waiting for my air cleaner to arrive. BTW the Motion Pro cable is a quality piece... Mike
  4. Thanks Trev....Now I've got a spare throttle cable for an XR200...but nothing that I can use on my fake Mikuni. The throttle cable for the XR200 is too large in diameter for the fake Mikuni, and strangely enough it is too small for the Keihin. Who knew??? Mike
  5. Thank you very much...the throttle cable has been ordered...and I am looking at options for an air filter. The original system doesn't really match up very well.. Thanks Again Mike
  6. Hi from Mexico You guys have convinced me that this Mikuni is a vast improvement over the Keihin which came on my TLR Reflex. I bought one on e-bay and it just arrived today. Straight away...problems. I can not detach the throttle cable from the worthless Keihin. The cable appears to be physically (and very firmly) attached to the top of the Keihin. I am not above using a hack saw to solve the problem, but I really don't like doing that to bike parts. Is this just a problem on bikes from the United States or are all the throttle cables firmly/physically attached to the Keihin carb??? Do any of you have a solution/recommendation? I must be missing something because it would make no sense to design this piece that way in light of the fact that it is not inconceivable that a throttle cable might break. Thanks in advance for suggestions... Mike
  7. Again...Thanks for all of the helpful replies. I will start a search today for the exact replacement YZ cover. It shouldn't take long on e-bay. The links to previous posts on this forum were/are extremely useful Miguel
  8. Beautiful bikes…beautiful videos, but I would feel a hell of a lot better if some of the guys stepped-off occasionally... Miguel
  9. Thanks to everyone who has responded to me. The link to the gasket source was the most useful. I have picked up an MX cover which should be correct. If it's not…I'm only out a couple of dollars.. Thanks again Miguel
  10. My right side crankcase cover needs to be replaced. I've had it repaired but it still leaks at the kick starter shaft and I think that the problem is mis alignment from prior repairs. I've noticed on e-bay that these covers are cheap for the 175/125 enduros (CT/AT models)....and expensive for the TY's...How interchangeable are these covers. They look the same to me. Unfortunately when you buy something off of e-bay you don't have the option of physically comparing the pieces. If any of you have experience using alternative side case covers, please share you knowledge with me. Thanks Miguel
