lucky to not only watch graham jarvis ride yesterday but get a quick interview as well. for those who don't know, he used to ride trials at a world level then swung across to extreme enduro. simply amazing bike skills and throws his dirt bike around like a trials bike!
-
cheers mags, will just take it easy, pace myself and see if i can finish at all....
-
-
unfortunately yes. he's long been a hero of mine but i repay all his service to humankind with a terrible impersonation, hehe!
-
that's great jimmie, i think a laugh a day is more important than an apple or vitamin pill. :-) i didn't know if david attenborough was well known in the USA or not but figure his docos must be aired there judging my some of the youtube comments i've had.
-
already posted over in the video section but this video offers definitive proof that trials riders are vastly superior to all other types of motorbike riders. :-)
-
all video footage is just of our club members, while i did pinch a few pics of old bikes from the internet i made sure anyone who showed in the video footage was from our club and had given permission. the girl in question is very talented, riding in C grade and improving all the time!
-
hope you don't mind, just googled bultaco and it showed up in the results!
-
hehe, its all fun until someone gets hurt glenn! i swore off the fast riding after all the accidents and injuries our mob had last year and then got into this cross training, but melissa is riding with us now and likes to go for a fast blast each ride so the pace has been up again lately... sigh.
anyway, another vid. this was a great day for applying the trials skills on the dirt bikes again, trying to find traction on some slippery hills.
-
this one technique has made more difference than anything else we've practiced....
-
not a training vid as such, but a cross training ride where we are all applying the techniques from trials... no criticism intended toward our enduro guys, but you can pick the guys who don't have trials bikes yet - lots of wheel spin and too much throttle!
-
-
-
it is on the list but a fair way down as it's more of a stunt really. but the basics of it are already in the rear wheel hop video if that helps.
-
-
all the trials training is paying off, finally starting to tackle some larger logs at last.
-
here's a bit of footage one of the guys took of us having a go at a small bank, and working up to doing the vertical bit. nothing exciting and shows virtually nothing of the motorbike park.
-
-
sadly i ignored the camera too... which was kind of pleasant actually as i always seem to be filming! but the other guys got some footage so could always stitch something together.
all that balance practice your missus has been doing must have paid off, C was looking very relaxed on the bike yesterday. i'm sure she'll cruise through the intro sections easlly at the first comp and probably start champing at the bit for clubman sections in the near future!
-
on youtube, everide (from the states) and i have a bit of fun with the whole accent thing... this video always cracks me up where he tries australian, new zealand, scottish and south african accents. nothing to do with trials riding though.
-
your poor cat! couldn't help laughing but it is probably great payback for all the awful paul hogan imitations we get, and references to shrimps being thrown on to bbq plates. :-)
-
-
thanks pat. i did the latest vid in an atrocious american accent just to spite some yanks who didn't like the way we talk down here around these parts.... :-)
it's just a mish mash of our existing video footage designed to get dirt riders interested in trials.

doh, messed up the last link:
