  1. This is mind that looks very simelar....... Iv not seen another one like theese. Mine was originally a mono shock but converted to twinshock and drum brake so it could be used in twinshock class trials.
  2. i have one very similar to that. what year is it? was it originally an air cooled mono? very nice!
  3. apologies for the delay in reply iv not been on for a while. thats what i have been thinking too! i don't know a lot about 2 stroke petrol engines so iv been struggling to fathom it out. iv not had chance to have another go at fixing it for a couple of weeks as iv had my old landrover to repair several big things on so I am on the road and can get to work ect. at least now i can rule out the coil. ill take the carb off soon and bring it into the house and have a good study of it. i will update when i next have a look. thanks for your advice smokey125 your a gent!
  4. hi b40rt what does that do? help it start? if i spray carb cleaner into the airbox it starts and dies after a second or 2 cheers Tom.
  5. finally the coil landed a few days ago and today i fitted it, great spark and still it wont start what would you recon is the next step to try! a new carb? cheers! Tom.

  8. iv been off work today so i spent the morning trying to sort it. so far iv: drained tank of fuel and washed out tank (left to dry out bone dry!) filled with fresh fuel and 2 stroke removed and cleaned filters on tap (where already spotless) checked tap and fuel pipe is good and giving a good flow I fitted a new needle valve and the carb is now filling up with fuel (it wasn't before) the carb has been stripped and carb cleaned and now its all spotless air box is bone dry and I got it fired up and it runs perfect like it used to for a minute and then dies - then when i remove the plug it is wet! I don't think theres too much 2 stroke in causing the plug to foul up and it doesn't look like oil on the end of the plug either! i dont suppose you have any more ideas?
  9. Iv ordered a needle valve, I think it may be sticking at the top so bowl can't fill with fuel.

  12. well I removed and stripped the carb and it was spotless, when I put it back together it fired perfect and run for 5 seconds and as I tried revving it it made borping noises and died - it was running on carb cleaner fumes! This shows its sparking ok so must be as sparky125 suggested it sounds as if it definitely is a fuelling issue? im stumped now, any ideas what it could be?

  14. Well still no luck! It run out of fuel just before this happened too do you think this could be related? Should it just be a case of filling it up and it should start?
  15. still not starting! the plug is dry inside too. is there any way to bypass the kill switch?

  17. not had time to take plug out but had a few kicks on it today and it kept nearly firing, iv got a feeling its the kill switch and it is is drying out. ill avoid that area next time
  18. After playing out the other day I washed my fantic and now it won't start! It's had a few days to dry any ideas? Cheers! Tom.

  20. Engine type says fm460 212cc it's forwards kick, is is sump nut m14?

  22. Thanks grib! Think mines m14, it has a sight glass for the oil so must be later type.

  24. I daren't take it out for a pic incase It doesn't go back in and I can't go play out on it.
