I Baught it!..... Is it a 305 coach? Drum on rear. Chuffed to bits with it - it revs rapidly! Thanks for the info so far - the engine code is fm403. Are these a chrome barrel?

After spray can painting my fantic tank and seat Pannal I am unhappy with the finish. Has anyone on here painted their bike parts and is there any spray can brands you could recommend? Cheers Tom.

Hi guys, I have purchased a spare used barrel, head and piston for my fantic. The bore has a small score in it and I was wondering if it would be a big problem? If it will be do you know how much it would be to get repaired? It will be nice to have a spare as no doubt they will become harder to get over time. Cheers. Tom.

Blooming heck! I noticed at 50:1 it revs a lot faster from tick over and hardly any smoke. Does low ratios of 2 stroke oil cause any problems?

Cheers oops sorry I ment go from 1:40 to 1:50! (What a plonka cant get owt right this weekend!) I'll get myself a large sryinge and measure more carefully with a measuring jug for the petrol too. I'll go to 50:1 and see how it goes iv been getting mixed advice on this as a few people i spoke to said with my bike been older it must be a stronger mix of 40:1 Thanks guys.

Think you need to lay off the beer! I was talking to a guy at my local club yesterday and he recommend to try 40:1 too as he had same problem. I thaught id double check with knowledgeable guys on here first.

thanks will do. the 50:1 ratio seemed a bit smokey too, with a lower ratio it isnt. ill give 40:1 a go im looking at getting the strawberry flavoured stuff when this bottle runs out.

i was running it at 50:1 would it be ok to take it back a bit to 40:1 if this happens again? cheers Tom.

iv just done exactly that and it now runs perfect, i removed plug after 40 mins running and its clean. i think iv somehow put too much 2 stroke in how many ml of 2 stroke do you guys add to 5 litres of petrol in your fantics? mines the fm450 engine.

following on from my recent problem i got it running again but now its dying after running a few minuits and then when i remove the plug its very oily! any ideas how this can happen? i dont think the 2 stroke mix is too strong! cheers Tom.

I fitted a new coil, NGK cap and plug and it kicked up instantly first time! im over the moon! it cant have been anything to do with washing it after all! thanks everyone for your help!

Is there a resistor built into spark plug cap or in the spark plug?

iv ordered a new spark plug cap to match the plugs iv ordered with same part number. ill update when iv tried it. thing is it always starts first kick so it must be summate and nowt.

well im finally getting somewhere, I took spark plug out and earthed it to cyl head and its sparking but not well. its got a new coil so should it spark well with this? what else could cause a poor spark, a duff spark plug? i wouldn't mind the first thing i did was order 2 new spark plugs but the top nipple where ngk lead attaches was different. can i fit the new plug with a different ngk lead end or where do i get the same skinny headed plug from? such a simple problem stopping it running i think, annoying as engine had been rebuilt last year! cheers! tom.
