  1. I finallt got the motor disassembeld on project TLR. Given the overall condition of the bike, I feared the worst. The good news is that the piston looks fine and the ring gap was not too bad.I plan to go ahead and re-ring while I have the chance. Bad news: the bottom of the sleeve of the cylinder. I found a small piece, about the size of two pencil erasers, broken away. I figure since it is at the bottom, I should be ok. It kind of looks like rust damage - an uneven edge. I would guess that it is maybe 6 or 7 mm square in size. The combustion chamber sure needs some cleaning, that I will do when the valves are pulled for replacement. Top of piston looks pretty good. Cam chain guides show a lot of wear. I picked up replacements along with the cam chain. Anything else I should be looking for?
  2. He probably can. This guy is a mad dog genius when it comes to fabrication. My plans are to take him my RL swing arm along with the NOS bushings and have him craft an aluminum arm for the Suzuki. I'll let you know how it turns out and get a ballpark price for you. I'm sure he will need either a stock swingarm to copy or some really exact dimensions.
  3. Hello all. I am having a machinist friend to manufacture some replacement bushings for the RL 250 Suzuki. I picked up a sample of a new stock item and plan to have a set made from those specs. We are planning on using bronze stock to make them. I don't know what the cost is going to be, but I thought I'd see if anyone else needed a set. This is the same guy that is going to make an aluminum swingarm for the same bike for me.
  4. While my TLR waits for completion, I have turned my attention to finishing up my model 49 Sherpa T. I have seen photos of this model with a silver frame and some with a black frame. Anyone know which is the stock color?
  5. Rob, I am in the US. Plans are to tear into the Reflex as soon as weather permits. I appreciate the help!
  6. Bob Ginder of B&J Racing is looking at having a white tank/seat combo built for the TLR 200 Reflex. Try his website for more info: www.bjracing.com
  7. Hi all, Where can I find a replacement piston / ring kit for my 1987 Reflex. My local dealer says they are not available as does Wiseco. Any leads appreciated. Thanks, Brian
