  1. hi folks. On the same subject is it worth bracing the swan neck frame like they do with the cubs and while your modifying the swinging arm is it worth lenthening it ?? Cheers Steve.
  2. Thanks for the help folk's
  3. Has anyone seen the ty175 on e-bay item 170188561429. Anyone know what it is ??
  4. Dave, My brother has a motoplat ignition fitted which touch wood has never let him down. He has a brass ring shrunk onto it for added weight. I will need to sort something out for my greeves so will do the same or try a PVL system. Have looked at the Rex Gaunt website before and he is not the cheapest!! Got my PVL B40 ignition off Alan Whitton and never had a problem. Who does them for Villiers ?? Steve.
  5. Hi Folks. Rode my brothers greeves today at peak clasic and had a great time. Makes it more frustrating that I cant find a subframe for my TFS as I have pretty much everything else. Have tried the nice people at Greeves several times but they never seem to have the time to sort it out. Can anyone help me out with a contact or better still have one lying around !!! Back brake would be good too.
  6. Hi Beamish, Have you had any luck in finding a frame? Let me know how you have got on. Cheers Steve.
  7. Beamish I would be very interested how you get on with your enquiries. Let me know how you get on.
  8. Hi, I have trawled the net and books with no luck either. Certainly would be very interested in a lightweight replica C15/B40 frame too on the lines of the macdonalds cub or something similar as have plenty of unit BSA bits. Seems they don't think the unit BSA's are as competitive as a cub. Thought about defecting but you are talking a lot of money before you even start making it competitive which is why I would spend money on getting a decent frame Steve.
  9. Hi all, I was looking at the pictures of the swan neck cub frames fitted with strengthening top tubes that double up as the oil tank. Can the same ones be fitted to a b40/c15 ? If so where can i get one and what is the best way of fitting them or guess who fits them ? Also if you can fit a cub sub-frame to a BSA frame can you also fit an ARMAC one and maybe the swinging arm ?? Cheers Steve.

    B40 Plug

Hi all. I have just put a PVL ignition on my BSA B40 trialer care of mr Whitton and reduced the carb down to a 626 as I had got one to hand. It started first time and seemed to run a lot better straight away low down. It's still missing a bit at the top and that's not if I snap the throttle open. Going to check the tappets next and then put a new plug in. I have got some NGK BP6ES plugs so was going to run it on that. They are the extended nose ones. Thought I'd ask what the thoughts of other people were though. Cheers Steve.
  12. I have seen some pictures of a few trick ARMAC frames for Cub's and was wondering if anybody does something similar for BSA's. I have always had BSA's and have plenty of bits to build a C15G or a B40 up. I am sorting out a bike at the minute to have a go again as not rode a trial for over 11 years!!! Would like to have a fairly standard one and a really trick one to cover all options. Anyone know what forks Thorpey has on his ? Certainly look pretty modern.
  13. Hi OTF. Really lovely bike. looks the the dogs round things!!! Seen some pictures of your B40, again a lovely bike. Have you sold it yet ? Its a bit expensive for me I think but am sure I could win on it if I started riding again. Real reason I got in touch is can you tell me where the tank came from as it looks spot on and would like to get one for the bike I am going to do up. My dads old trials B40 that has been in the garage for years. One other question it has the old heavyweight forks on it that are next to useless. What's the best thing to do get marzochi's put in them or bin them and get some MP's or similar. Am trying to keep the bike fairly original. I maybe back for some more help once I have got things up and running again. Cheers Steve.
  14. Hi James, Me again. Am working away in France till early next year so things aren't straight forward. If I was to buy it would only make a couple of frames and pass it on so really depaends on a price. Guess you wouldn't want to post it on hear but if you want to give me an idea my e-mail address is : pocketcooper@btinternet.com Thanks again Steve
  15. Hi, Have you sold the jig and if so will they be making anymore for consumption. If not can you tell me what the donor frame was you used to use as I maybe able to get it modified myself. Looking to build a francis barnett on the similat theme as there are too many james's about and get back into pre-65. Regards Steve
