  1. I own a 2014 300 2T and a 2016 300 4T. I have never noticed a huge difference in gas consumption. I all way's carry an extra liter of fuel.

    I do notice that the 4T gearbox oil will get dirtier quicker, and i change it every 3 or 4 rides.  For trail riding the 4T is more fun, for actual trials competition the 2T is my choice.

  2. Took me about 10 weeks to adapt back to a Beta after 5 years on the Gasgas. (2007-2011) Had ridden Betas for 6 years before that (2000-2006) Love the quality of Betas, other than the fenders of course!

  3. My 2016 300 factory almost killed me! It would run out of fuel while going up a steep incline with the throttle wide open. It came with a 120 main, on the middle neddle clip. Put in a 122.9 main jet with clip at bottom and it worked better, still would hesitate on w.f.o. Installed a 125.0 and it was pretty good. Now running a 127.5 main jet, with clip in middle position. Works great. Had trouble on hot starts. Started using the hot start button and now it starts great, hot or cold. I am running at a little above sea level - 500 meters.

  4. A friend of mine just took his sons TRS stock Dellorto carb and put it on his 2015 Beta 250. Didn't change a thing. It worked perfectly. I tried the bike for a short ride, seemed very soft on the bottom.

    I tried to order one from beta usa and they said discountinued... whaat? Its a 2013! Would they do that because the newer plastic fits or am I out of luck?

     

    I'm not very good at taking pictures. You need to take the air-box lid and remove the plastic from the bottom of the screw hole. (This allows the fender to sit flush on top of the rear air-box bolt) Then put two self tapping wood screws into the hole-from the back side. These will hold the air-box  lid firmly to the fender, making it a single unit. You should also put duct tape over the hole, or fill the top of the hole with a hot glue gun so no water can run into the air-box. The two zip ties allow the fender to pop off in a fall. My 2013 rear fender lasted three years and many tumbles.

  6. What has worked for me is to make the rear fender and plastic airbox lid as one unit (don't forget to put a smaller screw into the back of the airbox) then just use 2 zip ties thru the front bolt holes. Fender will just pop off easily. Make sure to  carry at least 4 zip ties on you for spares.

  7. I use a small piece of 2 x 4 and 6" vice to break the bead when removing. I put the new tire in the furnace room with a front tube installed in it over night. lot's of soapy water, tie straps down the center, and lot's of air pressure.

     

  8. Depending on your weight you may like the 200cc 2t. I have both the 300 4t and 300 2t. I like them both, but have to say i am more competitive on the 2 stroke as i have more experience on them. All ways surprised what my 4t will hook up in. Can't really go wrong with either one.

     

  9. I have had good luck with the Dunlop 803 GP. Good traction for a great price, long lasting too. Some people have reported it going flat on a ride (gasgas), but i have had no problem on my 2t and 4t evos.

  10. Now running a 125 main jet, needle clip at the bottom position, bike runs very strong. Fuel mixture screw at 2 and half turns out. Still hit and miss with starting the bike. Anyone notice if  the fuel mixture screw makes a difference in starting?

  11. One side of the air boot is a little bigger than the other, should be easy to see the difference. I replaced the fuel mixture screw on my 2016 evo factory 300,4t with one made by Keintech. Should have used some teflon tape or blue locktite because it fell out three rides later! I'm running the stock fuel screw at three turns out. I had a stalling issue going up rock walls. Now running a 123.8 main jet, clip at the bottom of the needle. Revs out okay. Still a bitch to start sometimes. May go to a 125 or 127.5 main. Sometimes i will stall it when bike is leaned at an angle or going down a steep hill. I am running the idle fairly high.
