  1. Hi Pindie, I recently aquired a 2012 TR280i that i am extremly happy with ?that also had quite some play in the bearing bushes, as i have experienced, it is a PITA to press them out(and in) and on top of that i have read myself in on the PCMF bearings (that have a few Micron!!! of PTFE lubricant) and they do not tolerate dirt of any kind and are not the best option for occilating movement. as i have used technical “super plastics” before on some projects, i have decided to try an alternative to the teflon steel bushings. the advantage of these should be that they are suitable for occilating movement, and they can cope with some dirt, and moreimportant, the complete 1mm wallthickness is the same low friction selflubricating material! and also a small point they should be much easier to press in and remove I will mount these and share with you how things are after some month of (ab)use Best Regards Chris The ones i have ordered are from IGUS, these are the sizes the smaller ones are for the link arms and the chain tensioner the larger ones are for the rear fork pivot points igus® iglidur® J350 flangebush, type J350FM-1618-17 Aantal: 5 stuks Prijs: € 2,11 netto per stuk igus® iglidur® J350 Flangebush type J350FM-1618-12 Aantal: 4 stuks Prijs: € 1,95 netto per stuk igus® iglidur® J350 flangebush, type J350FM-2023-21 Aantal: 2 stuks Prijs: € 3,52 netto per stuk igus® iglidur® J350 Cylindrical Bush, type J350SM-2023-15 Aantal: 2 stuks Prijs: € 2,87 netto per stuk.
  2. @b40rt i know diameter counts almost double in removing weight. @lineaway i will be using the caliper from braketech combined with the master AJP then, for max capacity and reliabilaty.
  3. Hi Oni, Thanks for your reaction, i sold the 1999, which i have not posted pictures of yesterday, because of the fact that i have just bought the one in the picture it is suppost to be my 1996 (really road registered in 1996!!) beta techno, i have seen that there is 1997 world champion written on the stickers, but how can one be so sure it is an 1998? can i check engine numbers somewhere?, because my vinnumber is made up by our governement road legislator BETAB...... thanks again, if this is clear it should save me trouble in ordering parts!!!
  4. Thanks for the swift replies, weren’t the braketech’s breaking from the pentlobe inserts to the threads, when they had castingimperfections? this should be adressed by now right? but by the look of all these 4pot brakecalipers they all fit all the trialforks is that right? @lineaway when turning the flywheel down one would only place the torque higher up the revs, right? Maybe i’ll turn it down little bit on diameter. Thanks for the input
  5. Hi Guys, I know that this seems like a pretty farfetched question for a starter on the board, but modifying is a older hobby than trials riding, I would very much like to upgrade my old Techno, because the bike itself is in very good nick! - Because the brakes are complete rubbish, and i would like to have a 4 pot caliper, can anybody confirm the fitment of the (see picture 4pot braketechs?) on the exsisting Paioli fork? and with the current brakedisk? - In the future i would like to upgrade to the Titanium expansion header/muffler of the EVO 250, (and Keihin PWK28) to get some more torque out of the system, does anybody know if the boltpitch and angle of port of the cylinders stayed the same?? I know that REV3 and Techno are almost identical in engine, it could be that they have not changed alot afterwards to EVO, Italians stay at a good plan rather than change it like Honda does every year. Why not buy a newer Beta, well i like tinkering, and improving old bikes CHeers Thanks! Chris
  6. Hi All, My name is Chris, I am a Trial newbe from the Netherlands, and have my 3rd trialbike now first was a Montesa 348, i had this one in 1999 and did not do alot with this bike it broke down and could not find spares back then, (not too much on internet back then) so the bike was sold again, then a long time went by, without a serious trialbike, however with a lot of CT70, ST70, Z50J Trialbikes, these are the little hondas for on the back of the camper. I really like playing and modifieing with these bikes,. This summer I bought an old Beta Techno 1999, this was a wildly used bike, and because i soon got the tast of it, and like the power, cheapness of parts (remember i am used to Honda and Toyota prices) I have bought a second Beta Techno 1996, this time road registered, so I can use it for the odd blast and practice wheelies stoppies etcetera. Wish to learn a lot here, and when possible add some information too, because my basic mechanic skills are pretty allright, (motorcycle parts engineer for a living) Cheers , Chris
