  1. Now if you were to use a few of these batteries in parallel https://hobbyking.com/en_us/zippy-compact-4000mah-10s-25c-lipo-pack-xt90.html Specs: Capacity: 4000mAh Voltage: 10S1P / 10 Cell / 37v Discharge: 25C Constant / 50C Burst This would give your 36 ish volts, at whatever ampacity(wattage) you need. You would still need an appropriate balancing charger.
  2. I use the Turnigy 3s -2200 mah batteries in my RC Helicopters. They are very good batteries...but for charging you need a proper lipo charger with built in balancer or you can use an external "blinky" (balancer). Either way you can only charge 1 pack at a time, per charger. While you could try and trick it into charging the combined packs together, over time you would see a serious degradation as the cells would become too far out of balance in each pack.
  3. I guess you're right! lol Oh well, there's always something new to learn...
  4. The white thing is a sandblast cabinet, and the grayish bomb looking thing to the left and back is just a 100# propane tank. Uh yeah, I'd forgotten about the application of oil to the chain with a paintbrush....Thanks for the reminder!
  5. Yeah, I was dealing with fluids today so didn't get much chance to look at the chain. I know I'll have some questions about it though... I do know it needs some lube, not sure yet what should be used.
  6. It seems I have bike stands scattered all over the yard! Very convenient I must say.
  7. So not knowing what coolant fluid was used, I ended up draining the whole thing, I didn't get very much out, it must have been pretty low. It was a blue liquid, I'm thinking it's the Arctic Ice coolant that is sold around here at the moto dealers. I guess once it's a known fluid, a person can simply top it up on a regular basis as there doesn't seem to be any way of determining actual level. All part of the ongoing maintenance of a trial bike I suppose. Thanks for the help!
  8. Thanks, was able to push the box over enough to unscrew the cap and remove it. Using a mirror I looked down the spout, it goes down 2 inches or so then branches off at 90 degrees, couldn't see any coolant. Should coolant come right up to the top?
  9. Fair enough! I knew something was off, couldn't put my finger on it though. So I phoned home....long distance of course... Followed the recommendation, thinking it looks better now.
  10. ummm, new guy and newbie(trials) here. Just bought a 2001 Rev3 250 and wanted to check the fluids, after removing the plastic cover on the left side of the frame/tank, I saw the "rad cap" but it seems there is a plastic/metal block preventing it from un-threading upward, what am I missing? other than a few brain cells lol Here's my view of it:
  11. Hey all, Greying beard, rode lots of dirt bikes and some motocross over the years, not a pro by any means, just riding for fun. Always wanted to ride trials... Been reading this forum for a while trying to gain some knowledge about purchasing a used trials bike. Being in Canada, trials bikes are few and far between, and I didn't want to spend too much to get into trials at this point. I finally found an older Beta Rev3 250, 2001 for a low enough price, it was probably more used for trail riding before though but seems in reasonable condition otherwise. While I have numerous questions...lol... I will reserve those for future posts and use this as an introduction only. And YES!!! I will post the mandatory trial porn pics of my latest acquisition! Oh , and did I mention I'm on 3 acres of land and I've been doing a lot of logging lately....hmmmm, what to do with the logs....tough one! cut em' up and burn em? Thanks for having me here, I have lots to learn so will go back to reading with my mouth shut!
