  1. Hi Guys. Just a bit of advice needed please on the 'Scorpa 300 Factory'. Just sold a 2017 Repsol Mont, great bike but it liked to be bossed about otherwise it bossed me. Going back to a 2 stroke for lightness and manners. Bad back catching up with me! Not ridden the new Scorpa or any Scorpa for that matter, but I have been offered a 2018 Factory 300 demo. How do they handle and what is the turning circle like? Whats the engine power like. Balance etc? Did have a few modern Sherco 305's 2013's and found the engines not to powerful and quite pleasant. Did good in the results on them as well. People seem to like the Scorpa's, but not the Sherco's. Go figure! Any feed back would be great. Thanks.
  2. Used Rock oil gear pro 75 in my 2013 Jotagas. It was very good as I remember. GRO gear extreme has very good spec's and is similar to ELF HLX 740 if not better, which I now use in a Montesa 4rt, as hard to get the ELF. The Montesa's are sensitive to poor gear oils, they show up when the engine is cold and the clutch drags or the plates sick together for the 1st 30m! No problems with the GRO, very good clutch feel from cold, easy to get and not to expensive. Oil is your best mechanic.
  3. They all come with a 11T front on the 4t's from the factory. Mainy for riding on the road in Italy. Dropped to a 10T and it was better for UK trials. Now living in OZ where the trials are a little more technical and very dry. On my 2014 300 4t I went down to a 9T after a local guy who rode the pants of everyone recommend it. It worked making 1st good for twisty sections, din't feel to slow mind, 2nd for steeper bits and 3rd worked great for hillclimbs. This was running a 42T on the back. Might have to play with the links on the the chain, its cheap to experiment with the front sprocket. Hope that helps...
  4. I don't think theres such a thing as a bullet proof bike! they all have issues.. the Beta its no exception and that engine was designed by Noah, but it works! I have a 2017 Repsol, now, it to has issues, but on the whole is very easy to look after and flattering to ride, you pay for it with a heavy build and you feel it at the end of a good trial mind. Ive owned most makes of bikes in the UK, but one left me with a big smile every time I rode it and that was a Jotagas. Maybe worth considering .....
