  3. the thinking behind the 500 barrel is that i cant find an ally 350, i would much prefer the 350 as the power is just right for my ability same as for a pal mag just cant seem to find one, plus i would like the most reliable electrics there are,

  5. thanks for reply all you have said i had already checked.the oil is comeing from a vent hole just below the brass elbow, therefore should there be slightly higher pressure in the timming chest than atmospheric pressure maybe to help return oil back down to crank case? when i removed the cover at the bottom of the crank case there did not seem to be an excessive amount of oil come out. im probably on the wrong track but i think the problem is the oil not getting back to the crank case fast enough. please tell me if i am wrong think i have found problem, after stiping down found lots of bits of sillicon instant gasket in oil ways, there was three different colours of the stuff. started up today and the return oil into the frame resevoir is more like a fountain than the bubbling i had before. thanks 'trickymicky'

  12. hi duckwizard, the answer is no my b40 is the same, also i had run out of adjustment and the chain was still slack. i brought a new chain from millers and it was still slack. after removing a link and very carefully refitting chain and clutch basket together the tension was perfect leaving the tensioner just touching the chain. the only reason i can think of for the new chain being to slack to start with is that i have a smaller engine sprocket fitted also from miller. hope this helps my b40 runs and sounds fine.
