  1. I've just stripped down the radiator off bike to fix the fan. I bought a eBay fan to replace it( cut n glue job) to find out it's just one of the connectors in the power, it had pushed out of the connection block.so it wasn't making a connection... Boy do I feed daft for not checking the connector first. Plus side it's got new antifreeze in it now... Still might have a weeping water pump though.
  2. Try either GasGas UK in Buxton Derbyshire or Trials &Tribulations Ltd in Church Stretton Shropshire. I'm running a oil petrol mix of 75mil to 5 Litres which is 66:1, I think non synthetic two stroke oil works better in these older bikes at that ratio.
  3. I've taken the clutch apart this afternoon and did as you suggested. Removed any glue or crud from the gaps between the friction material on each clutch plate. I've put in Pennzoil 5w30 none synthetic oil I will see if it's an improvement in the coming weeks. I think the water pump is weeping in to the gearbox as the oil was looking a bit milky when draining it, also small bits on the magnetic sump plug, so it's best to change it and keep an eye on it?
  4. Hi I'm having a issue with the clutch on my GasGas contract JT25 it's a 1995 model, what's the best oil for the engine? I think the mechanic who fix the gear selector for me put in Rock oil's gear oil, but I'm thinking it's causing the clutch issues I'm experiencing. Also does anybody know if there's a cheap cooling fan motor replacement for these bikes as I boiled my yesterday while out on it. I quickly stopped and allowed it to cool so I could get it down to the vans and car's parked up. Thanks.
  5. I have rock oil in the gearbox and I'm mixing petrol two stroke at 100mil to 5 litres using fully synthetic oil. Due the the age of my GasGas (1995) I prefer slightly richer than some. My clutch also sticks and I have just started to tape the leaver back to the bars to allow the oil to get between the plates more. What's the fix you talk about?
  6. Many thanks I'm looking on line now for it.?
  7. I sure hope Gas Gas survives this recent news, and is successful with their restructuring plan, so they can keep producing the bikes we like and want. Sadly electric vehicles are coming and we need to change from fossil fuels sooner than later. We as consumers need to embrace the change as it's coming wether we want it to change or not.
  8. Hi I have a 1995 Gas-Gas Contact JT25 and I wanted to repaint the engine, but I'm unsure of the colour it should be does anybody know the correct colour codes and who supplies suitable engine paint. Thanks Nikki
  9. Thanks for the link I'm browsing the website now...
  10. Thanks I will have a look on their website Nikki
  11. Just to update, I bought a 1995 GasGas JT25 Contact that needs a bit of work. I think it's a known issue with the bike being stuck in a gear, does anyone know anybody in Cheshire/North Staffordshire who can advise me on getting it fixed please. I think I have the right year from the chassis number as it reads x2595x0395 thanks Nikki
  12. Hi I'm thinking of picking up a trial bike again, my last one was a Fantic 301 so not ridden for a long time... so basically new to the sport is the best way to describe myself Is there anyone in south Cheshire who can let me know of any local meets or clubs I can join? Any advice on early GasGas bikes as that's the make I'm looking at. what to look out for, maintenance tips etc, plus any old GasGas bikes going cheap for sale you might know about (worth asking as I haven't bought a bike yet) Love to chat about bikes and such Nikki
