it started life as a cb100.so look at ebc brakes, and check for your self.when changed use mobile 1 full synthetic oil, changing every few trials.helps to stop horrible noise and feel when hot.
yes a bit powerfull.250 should be top of your list.start with a cheap bike see how you get on,2 stroke would be best easyier to ride.its all down to rider.i saw many years ago mick andrews win a trial on a honda 50 1 mark lost.i rode same trial on a 250 and lost over one hundred marks.
Any top tips for an easy fit and keeping them stuck in place?
Usually fit them warm to dry bars with some type of grip glue them wire tie them. Usually they work slightly loose after a while, perhaps i am just wringing them too hard as i try to stay on.
Just wondering what methods others out there have had sucess with. This particular pair i am about to fit are pro-grips.
before i take the cover off, has any one had similar experiences?
The cluch bites when the lever is almost fully out......which leads me to believe that the plates are badly worn.
When the bike is cold it is fairly easy to shift gears and find neutral, when its hot it is almost impossibe to do either, which leads me to think that the drum is notched and the plates are dragging....
am i barking up the wrong tree?
replace clutch plates with cb100n plates.run on mobile one oil.problem nearly solved, well wont be as bad.
Hi all, I've a new to me 86 TLR200 with a severe off idle stumble when I whack the throttle. So far I've set the valves (new timing chain also), set the decompression cable and throttle free play, cleaned and regasketed the carb including cleaning all jets and orifices, and set the float level to 24mm.
Relative to carb adjustments the air screw is at 1 3/4 turns out, and I've shimmed the needle by 1/16 inch spacer.
The problem is two fold:
1. on idle it doesn't return to a low idle quickly when warm. When cool (1 minute idle) with the choke off, idle is good.
2. as the engine warms the off idle stumble gets worse. I believe it to be a too lean condition as if I open the air box a little (using a wedge and tape on the air box cover) the stumble is worse.
I have read about the xr100 carb swap and drilling the jets but these two solutions would be a last resort for me. Any advise?
i reckon very good idea.many years ago i put disc on my tl125.but if you keep drum brake clean brake out every time you use bike sand paper on shoes as they go hard and glaze up. when tightening front axle keep front brake on this centrals the shoes.
