  1. I would only buy an 08 there is a big difference in power and how they run

What were the changes do you know? I think I've only ridden an 06' and an 07' and I didn't really much care for them, but if they made them better in 08' I may have to seek one out to try.

  2. Quite honestly, I doubt you would like one, They can rip your arms off! Unless you are riding modern EXPERT line. For the average punter, the Beta 250 is like a sewing machine!

I agree the Beta is sooo nice and the best I've ridden. I rode Cody's 4t when he was on one back in 07-08 or so and it was a monster, great bike, but you can't compare all of them to his though. I haven't ridden a Montesa at all, and the few Scorpas I rode didn't impress me all that well, but I'm sure it was all in the setup.

  3. Too late for that!

I suppose the silencer assembly is also the expansion chamber too so it is prolly tuned for the engine as well as making it a bit quieter. Mine is a bit dented on the outside face so maybe it's time for a mod.

Well from what it says under your name it seems you have an 01' which doesn't have a guard over the exhaust and makes it really very easy to dent. What I did on mine was replace it with an 02' up style that has the guard on it. Of course wait till either your packing is shot or it's unuseable to upgrade so you can kill two birds with one stone on that.

  4. That stinks man, I know it's a good haul for you too, I was kinda surprised to see you post the thread up and everything because of the sheer distance of it, but I know there's nothing like it anywhere else. I'm not so sure I'm gonna make it yet, but I will most likely go down for a while just to say hi to everyone.

  5. Try the S3 rim stickers. I don't think they are on RYP's site, but they have them. They are nice and tough and look pretty cool!

Yeah, I've looked at those, but I'm not sure I want to cover my whole rim yet. I may do it as a last resort, but I really like the color of the rims.

  6. Well, it's a very common issue, my wheels are a bit scratched. Just wondering if anybody knew a match for the brownish/black paint on the rims so I could touch up, or if there are other good fixes to this?

  7. The blue (DPBMC Deep Purplish Blue Metallic ) was a Yamaha color so i suppose they wanted to steer away from that. It reminds me of the 04 SY with the orange frame.

What do you mean "Scorpa type" wheels, black edges? Black edges look ace when new but get scuffed up in no time round my way, im glad there gone.

Yeah, the wheels with the black edges as well as Scorpa written around the inside, and yeah my are scratched pretty good now that you mention it. LOL

  8. I wonder what changes other graphics there is from last years? Looks good, but I don't know about that orange frame. I'm not sure what's with the sudden change to orange instead of blue for factory colors. IMO it would look better with subtle orange and more black and white. Also notice it doesn't have the nice Scorpa type wheels they used to have, that will be missed.

  9. The factory takes a month off, they should be back in action round now'ish.

    That would be good, haha.

Those videos are obviously more rider than bike though. I'm sure one set up properly is a pretty good bike, I've ridden a couple and just could not get along with it, I liked the Beta 4T a ton more. I haven't ridden a Montesa yet, which I really need to, I bet those are excellent.

  10. Haha, yeah. I'm not expecting a huge change, but I agree somethings gonna be changed soon, so I'm eager to see if this is the year they go for a redesign. I personally love my Scorpa too, but one of the things I liked the most is/was the Yamaha engine. I am very glad they have continued with the Sherco motor though, which I consider to be about the next best thing out there.(Motor wise, although Betas are strong as well). But one of the things they need to look at doing is designing a new motor, that might shift the focus off them being second runner to Sherco and give their individuality back. I'm also not sure of their focus, who knows. They may not be producing the frames anymore as well, and just using the leftovers for a while till they redesign. Who knows really? But I have my belief that it will be great in the end.

  11. RYP/Scorpa USA really do the best they can with Scorpa. They put a young rider on the 125 that was the top rider at the youth nationals. Brad (Ryan's partner) has a Scorpa for his own bike. Lately they've had all the Scorpa parts I've needed! Support doesn't get much better than that.

Hey Chris, this is Jordan, and I do agree to some standard. Hunter is gonna be quite good in the future, I'm sure of it, so maybe he will stick with Scorpa and we'll have a pro on one again, not saying Brad and Ryan aren't doing an amazing job (which they are) but it has slacked off a bit since Will was the pro rider and we had Bo, Chase, and a few others riding them in the nats as well as Scorpa USA being run specifically by Mike Harker, splitting up the responsibilities of Brad.

Anyway, I'm eager to see what Scorpa does for 2012.

  12. maybe no 2012 model. seems that sherco is not trying to conquer the world with scorpa..

seriously. our importer is trying the whole year to get some merchandise like stickers, caps, flags and receive nothing.

Maybe, ours isn't pushing them like they used to either. A couple years back there was good support and even a pro rider riding for them, now it's gone back down again. Hopefully Scorpa's support will increase, I hate to see them go altogether.

  13. I guess I don't get it. They've announced the return of the 125 with pics and even a vid that I saw, but no info on the rest of the 2012 models? They are a little behind now, GG, Sherco, and Beta have all announced their new models. Anyone have any info?
