  1. Anyone know of a way to get the rear fenders back up higher like they were new? Mine has bent down a little like they always do. Is the only solution to buy a new one? Anyone know about how much a new one is? (USD)

  2. If this Beta has been taken care of and in good shape, it may be a good buy. We still have an 01' Beta that's still going strong, had a few things over time done to it, but overall been a good bike. Not sure what the differences would have been on the 02' but I would have thought it would be a little more reliable.

  3. Scorpa has just reintroduced the T-ride, in both a 280 and 125. It is the sister bike to the Sherco X-Ride which is a 290. Not certain if the Scorpa version will be imported into the US, however the plan is to bring in the Sherco.

As for changes to the 2013 trials line, have not seen any news on the release...

Huh, thats interesting, I'm guessing the 290 Sherco is the same motor as the trials bike, but what engines will be in the T-Ride that are 280 and 125?

  4. No news seems to be out yet, but I thought I'd make the thread. What changes would you all like to see this year? All the other brands have announced their new bikes so I figure Scorpa won't be far behind.

  5. They are from Works Performance , alloy everything , gas charged , dual rate springs, 13mm shafts (HUGE!) and serviceable Heim Joints at both ends along with a offset top mount to clear everything ,14 5/8 eye to eye and I was told the dampening rate is Lane Levitts end result from his Bultaco days way back when ... Works sends you a Dimension/ layout sheet for oneoffs like these so they get the dimensions and leverage / angles that the shock will be used at along with all the involved weights .

They work Fantastic , No initial bind at all and on uphill muddy rooted stuff the back tire just stays planted , you don't feel any of the small stuff at all . unbelievable traction for a twinshock . Once I got the preload and sag set , it feels like a good modern mono now . and they are completely rebuildable with the correct tools and gas charging equipment . (that is all at my friends shop in NC.) And I didn't weigh them ,but I'd say their about 1/3 lighter than the falcons that came off .(and will get rebuilt one day and live on the FM330 or our overgrown TY80 ..)

Now if I can practice enough to use 1/2 my bikes potential , I'll be a happy camper !

About how much are these Fantasmic shocks? lol

  6. My few rides were about the same as hams. Although, the ones I rode were just standard setup. I've heard that with a few tweaks that something can be done with them, but I'm not sure what those tweaks would be, I've also heard the 08' is the best of the lot, but I never got the chance to ride one of those.

  7. I'm a newb - actually a pre-newb since I don't have a bike yet - but this thread has relevance to me because I recently had a chance to purchase a late model SY 200F. It had a long ride seat and was in pretty good condition, even had a electric stater installed (the battery was up where the number plate would have gone - funky). But the guy's best price was $4750 (~ £3080) So I passed. Was that a mistake? I've gone back and forth about it but I just thought it was too much to pay even if they don't make them any more and my chances of ever seeing another one for sale are next to nil here in the US. Alas.

    Thoughts?

BTW, a 2002 Scorpa SY250 has just come up for sale locally with the asking price of $2995 (~ £1942). These things ain't cheap! As a starter bike would the 250 make me forget about that 200?

Yeah, that's a bit much for both bikes. That is way to much for the 02', I got an 07' cheaper than that last year, although I know I stole mine. I'd definitely say keep looking, you'll find a good one eventually.

  8. I think you mean the 2012 Keihn (sp?) carb?

The 2011 had a Flat sided dellorto I believe.

Do you guys over there not have a problem with depreciation?

I would love to be in a position where,if for some reason, I didn't like a certain aspect of the 2012 bike I could move on and get a 2011 ...without any serious financial penalty?

Or are you lot all just rolling in it....money,that is?

Yeah, a Keihin that's right. hehe And yes, depreciation is pretty high over here and the people that did switch back do have quite a bit of money I believe. As far as all of us, no we are not all loaded haha. I have never owned a new bike at all. haha

  9. Well I guess it would be very easy to drop what Sherco has never had lol!!

    All the best.

    Neo

Sorry, I figured that's what they had this year. I'm not sure what the deal is with whatever carb they have this year, but a lot of people here have gone back to the 2011 because they don't like the carb for whatever reason. Seems a little silly to me, they could have just changed out the carb if they didn't like it. But I haven't asked any of them yet on their reasoning.

  10. You can't go by what I did, I got my newer style muffler used. I'd definitely say go for a new one from RYP. I'd say you'd definitely be happier with it if you just went ahead and got a new one. The packing should last several years for sure.
