    What Price ?

Getting on for a year ago I bought a 96 Techno, I was told by the owner that he bought it at 6 months old and that he hadn't done any maintenance on it since. So as you would expect, it was in a bit of a state. But with some TLC it has been a good bike, it always starts first or second kick, and nothing seems to fall off it. The only real anti is that it is heavy compared to later bikes Just a couple of points to check, the front wheel is held in by a clamp on one of the fork legs, the clamp is part of the casting at the back of the fork, and there is a bolt at the front, so there has to be some flexing at the back when the wheel is removed and replaced, on mine the clamp was broken at the back, by the looks of it due to metal fatigue, and required a replacement fork leg (Painful). Also the swinging arm bearing were shot (Not suprising after 11 years of abuse), unfortunately when I carried out this work I found that one of the journals that the swinging arm bearings sit in had cracked right through, so a new swinging arm required (more pain). I don't know if these are common faults with the Techno, but worth a look anyway. The good news is that parts are still avaliable. Cheers Andy
  2. I have a pair of Oxtar Dunes boots which seem to be loosing their fittings at quite a rate. Does anyone know, is it possible to get spare clips and straps etc. for Oxtar boots? And if so, where? Thanks Andy
  3. Thanks to all of you for the info, the bolt doesn't screw into the frame, so lots of WD40 and even more brute force and ignorance (I am good at that bit) and the swinging arm came out. And what a state the bearings were in. Thanks Again Andy
  4. I am struggling to replace the swinging arm bearings on my 96 techno. I undo the nut but I cannot free the swinging arm bolt, this looks as though it is screwed into the frame, but it will not unscrew. I have looked to see if there are any pinch bolts or similar which would stop the bolt being unscrewed, but I cant see anything. Have I missed something? Or is there a knack to getting this bolt out? I am cautious about using too much force as snapping something or rounding the allen head of the bolt won't help matters. I was told when I bought the bike that the previous owner had done little or no maintanance, so could it just be seized in, although the swinging arm moves freely (a little too freely). Thanks
  5. My son is coming up to his 10th birthday, and just doing trials at weekends isn't enough, as he would like a trials game for the PC or playstation so that he can "practice" during the week. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as a trials game for the PC or playstation 2.
