  1. Hi Russ it's probably just your rear silencer that needs repacking, mine was rather noisy until i sorted that. all you need to do is remove the black plastic end piece (a couple of screws from memory) and pull out the centre baffle tube. you will find it's wrapped in a sort of fibre wadding that will be black with oil. remove this wadding and re wrap with silencer packing (loft insulation seems to work just fine) and reassemble. hey presto .....much more neighbour friendly. oh by the way give the baffle tube a good clean while its out, use a blow torch to burn off the oily mess. all the best Tim
  2. hi there just been on ebay. carb for techno @
  3. hi there. welcome to wonderful world of upside down motorcycles. set up hints for techno carbs. like you i have recently got myself an old techno having just returned to trials after a 12 year plus lay off and experienced what sounds like the same fuel leaking problems (mine even leaked on the side stand with fuel tap on). have a read through the page on this link http://www.r2wtrials.co.uk/html_files/betacarbsetup.html and make adjustments to float stopsas shown, its also worth carrying out the mods to the carb breather pipes as shown in this page http://www.ntxtrials.com/web_newsletters/RCR0106.pdf i have carried out both these mods and it runs very well and doesn't try to dump its fuel at the first opportunity. hope this helps. ps if your carb is a gonna check out ebay , i've seen a few techno's being broken for spares on there. all the best Tim
  4. Easy fix. just follow link from R2wtrials as i did and no more pools of petrol under the bike. well done R2wtrials Tim beta techno
  5. just getting back into this trials lark and have got hold of a 1998 techno. bike seems to run just fine but is a little noisy and i'm looking to repack/clean the rear box. i took off the rear cover but centre tube does not appear to be removable, is it just a matter of dragging out all the old packing and re-stuffing the box ? how tightly do i pack it ? is there any way of cleaning the centre tube as i am assuming this is some sort of baffle ? thanks
