Hi, I have just switched from a Gas Gas txt 250 99' and bought a 06 rev 3 250. I have found that when i come off the bike and it is on its side for more than 2 seconds, when i pick it up again it takes about 10 min to start, as if it is flooded. Is this common and something i have to put up with or is it just a prob with the floats in the carb that can be adjusted. Really annoying as im only a beginner and do come off alot!! Any help will be great.

carbs are a problem on the rev 3 , look back on the beta pages there have been lots of comments, I have a 06 beta I have done all the mods you need to get the tangs set spot on, but mine still will not start whens its facing down hill, so make sure you are level or facing up hill when you start it, it makes a difference.

Cheers for all the help...will have a play over the next few days and see what happens. Will definetly have to learn how to turn the petrol off as im flying over the handle bars though....that really would be an impressive skill!!!!

I'm sure heath will eventually get a burst of shots when Barry has perfected the technique. from the pictorial evidence here click um linky the foot off first method of dismounting might just give him enough time to get his hand down to turn petrol off before the bike tries to take more of his digits away

ps I take it the paw is all healed up by now Barry

Haha yep all healed now but this is its first winter so is a bit tender for the first 30 minutes or so till the blood starts to circulate a bit, next time I am up Nettleton or anywere I can find a nice transition I shall see if I can do a mid air fuel turn off! If nothing else it should produce a good shot

Even when i get a perfect shot i say that as you try that bit harder and generally land in a bigger heap or hit something with more force

I have had my 05 250 nearly from new and never ever played with carb settings, i have fallen off more times than the proverbial s***ty stick can be poked at and it always starts, downhill, uphill. It has done many run around trials and the manx 2 day without missing a beat. Granted it has had a stator but that was a problem with them. Hey maybe im lucky but am looking forward to my new 08 270. :D

Easy fix. just follow link from R2wtrials as i did and no more pools of petrol under the bike.
