  1. I have a Mitani clutch, and it has 3 different types of friction plates (2 of each type). There may be other Mitani clutches with 2 types. The stock clutch has 2 types (2 each PN 22201-KY2-000 cork in positions 1 & 6, and 4 each 22201-MEL-000 paper in positions 2-5). Your picture looks like the stock clutch. If you didn't get the service/parts manual, there are 2005 and 2009 parts manuals (in PDF) on-line at the LewisportUSA website. The engine oil is separate from transmission oil. I only bring it up because you only mentioned the engine oil. I've been using the recommended transmission oil -- ELF HTX740. It's pricey but works well. Not sure about your problem, but you might try some fresh HTX740 and see how your clutch works. The HTX740 is clear to light amber in color, mine usually comes out pretty clean after 6 months. FWIW, I use the same engine oil as you're using.
  2. According to the , it'd be choice 2 -- only one point. See the linked video starting at about 2:50.
  3. I removed a 4RT top end recently, and left the engine in the frame. But I found it was easier -- and probably safer for the head cover mating surface -- to rock the engine forward. With the bike on a stand, I took out the lower rear engine mount, loosened the swingarm axle (but left in place), removed the bottom sump guard bolts, loosened the front sump guard bolts, and removed the 4 "down tube" mounting bolts. Then the engine could be rotated forward. I placed a rod (it's a T-Handle in the photo) through a down tube mounting hole to hold everything in the rotated position. See photo below:
  4. A spark arrestor is required for BLM or FS lands. About all the areas/trails mentioned involve BLM lands, so you'll need a spark arrestor. In the Moab area, Pritchet Canyon is well suited to trials bikes. You can do it as an up & back and get into some good obstacles shortly after leaving the trailhead. It's about 5 miles to the top of "Yellow Hill" from the bottom, so it's easy to ride this segment and back with trials bike range, and still have fuel for riding various lines on the bigger obstacles. There's a strip of private land you'll need to cross at the bottom of Pritchet Canyon, and the landowner charges $2 (or there-abouts) to cross his land. As mentioned, 5MOH is a great trail for trials bikes. I've done it on both enduro and trials bikes, and it's lot's more fun on a trials bike... almost like it was made for trials bikes.
