The brakes on my TLR200 are pants, they don't seem to lock up like on my Fantic 200. They feel spongy, got new shoes in front and back. Any easy options? And is getting hubs lined and machined expensive?
-
Is the Delkevic ally exhaust system any good for the TLR200, I was wondering if it's any good and matches up to the front pipe ok.
-
Got halfway through a section at the weekend, and my 200 actually went in reverse. The observer said it was something to do with the stroke.
What I'd like to know is, is this indicitive of something on the way out with the engine, or just a freak thing?

Ok, I've had enough looking at my bike with tatty homemade panels, is there anywhere in the world that makes anything resembling the real McCoy .
Cheers

What is the correct jetting for a replacement 22mm carb on a Tlr 200.

Hi,
That did the job, I was totally approaching it the wrong way. Everything seems ok, so no need for new nuts, etc but thanks for the info and I know where to go now for spare bits. That saved me a lot of wasted time, Cheers

Hi,
Been trying to remove the nuts off the sprocket studs on a recently imported TLR200, got one off but the others won't shift they just spin but seem tight. Looking at the parts diagram these studs seem to be pressed into what I'm guessing is some sort of rubber bush.
So any tips for getting these nuts off and where can I get replacement studs/bushes and how difficult would they be to fit? (big hammer technique?) I'm concerned these studs might vibrate out if I did manage to get the nuts off.
Cheers,

I'm guessing that's MH, yeah see you there, thanks for the reply. It seems like everyone's got a set up they're happy with, I wanted to check here first as I guess most people have tried various set ups and I didn't want to waste time experimenting.
Cheers

Hi
I know its probably been asked before, but through experience what is the best sprocket set up, front and back, for a TLR200.
Many thanks

Hi
Seen a few pictures of some tricked up Fantic 200's with a nice alloy looking front mudguard brace and a modern mudguard attatched, any suggestions or is this off a mono Fantic?
Cheers
-
Hi
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll try a new sprocket set up, 11T 53T sounds good, having a usable second gear will be much better.
Cheers

Hi
How do you de-coke a front exhaust pipe on a 156 Fantic, I think it would help perfornmance if I could do this, after 30 years it must be well gundged up, but I haven't a clue how to go about it, is caustic soda any good?
Cheers,
Tony

Hi
I've got a problem with my 200 in sections, the only usable gear is first, it's got a 10T front and 43T back. Any thoughts on how to lower the gearing to make second or even third usable in the sections, this was a real disadvantage at the weekend in muddy conditions.
Cheers, Tony.

Steve,
When do you think something like this will be available for the 200
Cheers

Yeah, these look great, I made 2 out of perspex, but the colour's not good, these look more the business without having loads of cable tie's everywhere. How would they hold up to heat with the left side being so close to the exhaust?
-
I take your point, having just sold my Sherpa for the Fantic, it just seems to me if there's more Fantic's being used then the demand must be there. I've heard quote's of

Hi,
Many thanks Steve for helping me out.
I would still be interested to know if fork nuts/caps are available anywhere as a spare part, as the hexagons are a bit chewed up.
Also why is possible for fibre glass replacement side panels for a Bultaco to be made, yet no one has done this for the Fantic's?

Hi,
Thanks for the replies, I sat down with a cuppa and thought about it, then took off the bracket. Fitted the whole lot together first and found the spring had less distance to travel and got it on ok. Then it was easy to pull the stand down and push back on, then bolt the bracket on again. So anyone with a similar problem...... try a cup of tea first!
Cheers all.

Hi,
How do you fit the spring to the side stand on a 270 without having a hernia. I'm guessing there's an easy way but can't work it out. All advise will be welcome before I have to invite the local tug-of-war team round.
Cheers

Hi,
Thought I'd follow up what happened next. I cleaned out the carb, changed the plug to an irridium type and cut off a couple of mm off the ht lead. I don't know if it was a combination or one specific thing, but for the first time the bike started first time every time even when warm and the fan did kick in as well, so thanks to all of you who who offered advice...... success! thanks.

It runs fine, and starts from cold no problem, I think I'll just have to live with the clutch problem. I was thinking is the oil to heavy and gets thinner as it gets warmer maybe. I'm using the bike once a month at the moment as my Bultaco is far more reliable, not bad for a bike that's 30 years old. It's frustrating queueing at a section and then not being able to start the Sherco, being new to modern bikes I don't know much about the fan, etc, to be honest I don't remember the fan ever working, could the engine be getting to hot, because it does always fire up eventually, but by then you're knackered kicking it over. Thanks for your advise though.

Hi,
I've got a 250 Sherco 2005 model, the clutch doesn't work until the bike has been running for a bit and you go up and down the gears a few times. Also I've been having major problems starting it when it gets warm. I like the bike but the starting thing is doing my head in, any sage advise from anyone would be great.
