Just give sandifords a call, I broke one recently at a trial, the short part from the rim, and it cost 59p or something silly. I don't know how much the longer hub end spoke would be but not much. You can do this yourself, it ain't rocket science...

    315 Advice

315's are very sensitive to fuel and carb settings....put your circlip needle position midway...if the needles right up, that'll knock even more as you will be richening the mixture betweenn 1/4 and 3/4 throttle openings. Use an octane booster if you can't get super unleaded...STP do a good one...good synthetic pre-mix at 80:1...if you fancy sorting it for good, I was the bloke who posted about the OKO 28mm carb change...it's amazing and they are available off the 'bay for
  3. Yep, Ive used Ford synthetic ATF from Halfords and it's fine...usual warm up problems but when you've gone through the box once it never plays up again
  4. Thanks for that, shame there's not a cheaper upgrade though....
  5. ...I must admit I saw this...! Trouble is who would buy it? You'd have to win all the time to justify the cost, and if you didn't, you'd be all the gear no idea...! I'm sure Doughie could beat most people riding my old 315R and letting them ride his works light as a feather special anyway. That's why I'm getting back into trials, the bike is important, but not as much as rider skill...
  6. Whilst looking over a later (2002) 315 at a recent trial, I noticed that it had a 2 piston front caliper as opposed to my 1998s single piston. My questions are. 1. Has anybody swapped to a 2 piston from a single? 2. How easy ( was it just a caliper change or did you have to swap discs etc 3. Would the caliper from a Honda CR Motocross bike from the same era fit (1998)? 4. If anyone has a 2002 on 315R what is the measurement between the mounting holes? Thanks and bring on the answers...!

    Kehin Jetting

...Give the OKO a go! They are a quarter the price of a Keihin PHK and all the jets interchange...plus the choke can be put on easily...search for OKO 28mm on e-bay...mine works a treat

...so raise the compression and lighten the flywheel...OK, I don't want to do motocross on it though!! It doesn't make it too peaky though does it? It also knocks a bit from the bottom end when cracking the throttle open, I've heard this is kinda normal on a 315, something to do with octane rating, how do you stop this?

    315r Top Mods

Hi there, I've started down the mods route already on my 98 315r, and i anyone's interested, the best thing I've tried and found worked a treat is a OKO 28mm Keihin PHK rep (Chinese) carb. This cost me 39 quid and went straight on, jetting as supplied feels fine and you can even access the choke!! It's kinda half flat side to the airbox side and curved inlet side, just like the PHK Keihin. Low speed running feels much more responsive now, and picks up lovely. All I had to do was soak airbox rubber in boiling water so it would fit over the slightly larger new carb, cable fits fine. Anyone else had a fiddle with engine / suspension on a 315 and what did you feel worked best? Pete
  11. Hello everyone, my names Pete and after a 25 year layoff, I'm taking up trials again! My last bike was a Montesa 200C Cota twinshock, and I've just bought a 315R and joined and entered for my first club trial next Sunday...! I think I better get some practice in. I've also got an '04R1 which is really a track day tool and barely road legal, though I do use it on the road. And instead of getting bored in the winter with no fun to be had doing trackdays in the UK, I've decided to get back into Trials. I've started modding the bike already and have fitted a OKO 28mm / KEIHIN PHK rep carb.
