Thanks for the input guys it will really help me a lot...I'm sure I will have many more questions. So today I just decided to mix up some fuel and see if I could get it started...Fired up in less than 7 kicks can you believe it! But I already ran into 1 problem. The accelerator handle will not twist/turn however you want to say it, so it just sits and idles. I didn't let it run it for very long but before I killed the engine, I pulled the clutch in and when I put it in 1st gear, it jumped forward and died before I even let the clutch out. Could the clutch possibly be shot? I know the cable is in need of replacement (torn a little bit but still functional) and I do have the replacement but once again lack the tools and knowledge. Need to see if I can find a Bentley manual or similar if they make them for this model maybe that will help a little because I am a complete noob starting fresh. I REALLY want to get the bike going myself so I don't have to pay for any maintenance. People in my area haven't been much help on some local forums and tell me my bike isn't worth the trouble but it has a lot of sentimental value and even though I'm 27, I know it can still be a fun little toy .

Well, your bike has been in the shed for ages,so you have do do a oil change. What happend with your clucht is normal for a bike have not ridden for years. The plates have been backed together with the old oil.Try first what i say, oilchange, and then ride the bike a while around changing the gears, using the clutch.Normaly it will be all okay after a few minutes. But also put a new throttle cable in an grease the thwistgrip, that will work wonders.
46.5 is the outside oil seal size, my mistake, starting to think to far ahead. Fork outside diameter is 30mm just measured. Does this give me any options?
As axulsuv said, clean the carb, fresh gearboxoil, fresh fuel(Synthetic Castol TTS 50:1)and a new front mundgard, and i will be shure the bike will fire up and start. It looks great.
Ive ordered a round slide OKO, I dont think a flat slide is legal for competition here in OZ. Keeping in mind the flat slides werent thought of in 1974 for the TY.
If you need a good and cheap carb for your Yamaha have a look on Craig Malwn's website he is offering a Dellorto for 126 quit or so. I spoke with Craig on easter in Belgium and he said it is all jetted to plug and play.On of ouer mate's from the IOM had it on his Majesty 2 weeks ago in italy and he was very pleased with that carb.
I had excactly the same thing, and put one of John's Electronic ignitions in.Perfect an smooth.Tryed it last weekend in Italy on a two day trial.I really can recomend that thing.
My TY250 i think it's an A, has a KT brand carb on it (never heard of them in little old NZ.)
Problem is: on the first and second rounds of a comp occaisonally when I give it some Welly, it goes really flat and won't rev out, and of course going up the steepest section it just runs out of puff and sometimes dies. I am sick of losing 5's, jets are clean, no crud in the filter, but, now this is strange, generally on the 3rd and 4th round it runs like a dream!
Crank seals ok not pressurizing gearbox or blowing lots of smoke. I note that the filter (clear see through) doesn't seem to be more than 1/3rd full but when i tap the float bowl more fuel runs in. Yes i do run with the full filler cap slightly off tight incase there is a vacumm inside the tank.
Main jet is so big that there is not even a number on it.
Also occaisonally it's really flat after a small climb.
Any thoughts or recommendations gratefully received.

Well i hab exactly the same problem as you on one of my TY 250.It was a nightmare.Anyway the result was a aftermarket petroltap(chinese or whatever)an the trouble was after a while it get not enough petrol, especilly on climbs. So,what i would do is,put a brand new original Yamaha petroltap on and your bike will run okay.
Nice pics, but i have to say that we also have other trialsbikes over here in germany then Fantics. If i can join Lee next year you will see that there are also Yamaha's and Majesty's.
