  2. the venue is morlais quarry the post code CF48 2UP by the the mountain railway

was up there most of the day marking out the sections some good sections

will be 9 sections all in short walking distance ;)

    so practise on saturday afternoon

trial starts sunday so come along its free and see some of the best sections in the country ;)

  3. One other thing ,dont know how you ride ,but fitting the twin map ignition did wonders to mine

It was a bit hard finding grip when i first started riding it but after fitting the twin map it was fantastic.

I had mine set mild and wild.

already fitted with twin map

  4. just bought a 4rt secondhand as not done much work so how often do you guys services you 4RTs i.e engine and gearbox oils every six as per book or more?

what is piston ring wear on them like it says to change them after 6 mths is this the case or do the last longer ?

anyone rebuild one on engine failure ?

and is there anything to keep a eye on in general?

  5. Have used ATF in both 315s and 4rt with no problems -I find that clutch action is at least as good as anything else I have tried.

By the way ATF stands for Automatic Transmission oil - every modern automatic has several clutch packs and multiple gear sets which make a 4rt clutch and gearbox look like a tractor transmission. Modern atf which has been developed by all the motor manufacturers and major oil companies over the years so I am sure its fine for a trials bike.

PS you can change it 10 times for the price of 1 elf change -fresh oil is always better in my mind

what make of atf do you use jimmy?

  6. The pedal normal snaps across the bolt hole for the folding end. This normaly leaves a slot at the end of the pedal. By fileing a piece of alloy to fit into this slot and of a suitable size to get your foot on this can be attached by drilling and tapping from the reverse of the pedal. Worth doing as a spare if nothing else.

Hour or so in the garage and the jobs a good one

would love to but its in the merthyr sections some where didnt see come off only notice when i was going down the hill to the next one B);)

ordered H+D so will be on for next week end in neath

  7. only good thing it snapped on the last section so didnt spoil the day

has i will be keeping it for a good few months i may buy the H+D one its the price of 2 so makes sense in the long run

thanks for that just thought it was me, other wise very happy with bike

  8. not to bothered about taking the bits off and refixing them so may have to find a local mech to carry of servicing

also noticed shock linkage bearings worn is this easy to remove bearings or will they have to be pressed out?

ps big thanks for pdf info iou one of these :guinness:
