  1. i have join norwich vikings and was not awear that i was able to ride in the actual contest due to not having my acu licence through the post yet. being told i could ride at the end of the event as was a new place so thought i would have a look around when this happened. this was not by being a fool or messing around but a case of bad luck when going through the woods and hitting a tree stump. i was at the time riding with 1 of the event orginisers who was also doing the same as me. i have thanked the club for the help they gave me and appoligised for my bad language when i was injured and i know i now have to make up for it and have some respect to gain. i dont want everyone to remember me as the idiot who was messing around as i hope to come down to either veiw or ride when able.
  2. after my recent crash and destroying my monty past the point of keeping and repairing iam on the look for another trials bike. it will be second hand with a budget of under
  3. i didnt think about the hopping part but can see the upside in a shorter bike i will be back on the bike when im fixed and the bike is. just after some comfort from others about injurys as was only 3weeks ago i had a cast taken off my other hand after flipping the monty on a section. least its the other thumb broken this time.
  4. horrible crash street bike tommie from nitro circus. looks like how i felt thou
  5. hi last sunday i was at a local trials advent when i had a very nasty crash. i was in 4th gear and wheelying through some open area to another trials spot when my rear wheel found a tree stump among all the debrey on the floor. this resulted in both feet bouncing off the pegs and me being dragged behind the bike with the throttle pinned open. i was unable to leg go off the bars and could see two trees straight ahead of me getting closer very quickly. unable to turn or brake i went straight into the tree with such extreame force the front end of the bike folded backward the crush the header piper. bottome yoke snapped and also the treads for the top nut completly stripped. my body was thrown past the bike but my leg caught the exhaust silencer which took a lump of meat out of my thigh showing alot of tendants and muscle. not pretty. so in conclusion i have a trials bike which is about a foot and a half shorter in length and complete damage all over. i was wearing all the correct gear and amazingly i didnt touch my head at anypoint. the ambalance staff could not belive i was ok and concious and able to hobble to the ambulance. i ended up with stiches in my leg and a cast on my hand as broke my thumb. so lucky im ok and still here. im now off work for 6weeks so need cheering up and encouraged not to give up riding as its not just me who gets injured but part of learning. let us know of your worst moments and the good endings. andy
  6. no expensive pads im not to worryed about the front brake now as i have crashed the bike on sunday during a trial. i was crossing some open land to another area whilst in 4th and doing a wheelie when my rear wheel found a tree sump hiden in the leaves and knocked my feet off the pegs. i was dragged behind the bike flat out (approx 30mph) straight into a tree. amazing i was ok let alone walked out of the crash. will do a full estimate of the bike when i can use my hand more and walk ok so i can ask for some parts. thanks for the advice on the brake thou. andy
  7. hi all my 2001 monty is a brill bike but i find after using the front brake a couple of times it produces majour brake fade. i have bleed the whole system plenty of times and made sure of no water in the system but to no benefits. it winds my up when i go on my friends beta and the bike stops on a knifes edge using the brake but mine lets you keep heading towards the trees without slowing me down much. the pads are as new and skuffed up. caliper stripped and cleaned. pads and pins lubed. is there anything im missing??? thanks all andy
