hi all , my mates just got a 2000 montesa 315 it has a engine knock now some peaple say this is normal for the bike but sounds dodgy to me any idea's???thanks

The easiest fix is usually increase the pilot to a 36 and higher octane fuel.

is it anything to be worried about tho the engine knock?

Be very hard too tell without hearing the engine itself but can you tell wereabouts the "knock" is coming from specifically?

If it is the 'knock' I had on my 98 Mont it was cured by using Shell Optimax fuel but my 01 Mont ran fine on standard unleaded.

I've Heard this knock, Its almost like a chattering (but def a knock rather than a rattle) coming from the clutch side.

only really when the bike is on tick over, not all the way up the rev range,

Just listened to the knock and it is there when reving it but only quietly, my mate rang sandifords and they said that they thought it was a bearing in or around the clutch does this sound likely? i dont know anything about engines myself so,
