Differences Between 05 And 06 250 ?

Featured Replies

Please can anyone tell me the differences between the 05 and 06 250 Beta.

Is it worth paying a few hundred more for an 06 ??

Thanks.

ps. I am upgrading from a 2002 Montesa 315r.

As far as I remember, not a huge amount: Tweaked suspension, different head porting and ignition changes. Oh, and they seem to have finally sorted the stator problems with the '06 models (although not all earlier bikes are affected). Plus the 06 plastics are much nicer but you could always chuck a set on an 05.

The 06 is worth about 50 quid more than the 05 in todays second hand or PX market :hyper:

Buy the 05 add a V-Force reed kit and the 06 foot peg brackets (lowers your center of gravity for better balance) and you'll have a bike every bit as good or even better than the 06.....except for the color and flexible plastic.

I have a '05 and have ridden a few '06 bikes and I agree with what everybody has said above.

The 06 also had revised steering head geometry along with lowered foot peg mounts which made the bike steer even better and be more stable.

thanks for all your replies !!!

Having looked more at the second hand market there is only a 100 or so quid between some

05's and 06's.

I think the 06 would be best for me.

Cheers.
