Scorpa Engines.

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2006 250 Scorpa and would like to hear from other owners about the engine.

I have test riden a few other makes but have noticed that my engine does sound mechanical. By this I mean there is a whirry rumble noise. The bike has hardly been used and the previous owner looked after the bike. Is this normal on such a new and little used bike? the bike starts first ick and runs like a dream so I was a little surprised.

Thanks.

Hello,If you pull clutch in does it sound different. Most of them that we have had it is the clutch that seems to be the source of the noise.JR

i ve had three mate and my latest 05 sounds like your description heard a few at the scott and all the same although i was the same as different sound to my 03 and 04 ,brilliant bikes mate ride and enjoy it

I have spoken to Birkett about this and he says you either get 1 with a noise or you don't. He has looked into it and cant find the source of the noise or a cure but assures me that there is nothing wrong with them.

mine does it too 01 model, i wouldnt worry it not often you see a scorpa post on here with engine trouble of any kind.

I rode an 07 on sat and found it pinked a bit at top end, this changed a bit after second fill up.The fuel i used was different to what was in it but mixed with the same oil(castrol). The bike belongs to a mate who when loaned me it told me that he found it pinked. If anyone has tips on this i would be greatfull. The tickover seemed to drop after second fill up also, apart from the pinking the bike sounded and performed great! :(
