    Sy 250 04

forget what it says on gearbox and owners manual when you drain the oil you will never get it all out, best to fill till it comes out of the oil level check bolt located by the kick start shaft.
  2. spoke nipples will need plenty of heat to move them, probable best to rebuild as you will probable destroy them trying to tighten them up. spokes about a quid each + the cost of a nipple. sump bolt is made of toffee get it removed and replace with somethink else, cant be sure but i think bmw do a suitable replacment. rear brake should work fine. try bleeding it or maybee a new set of pads asuming it isnt seized. on the oil front even with the sump plug out you will struggle to get all the oil out so do what you can and refill so oil comes out of the oil level bolt.good luck.
  3. the 200 will do you fine but if you must have a bigger bike how about a scorpa sy250. sorfter power delivery than most of the other stuff but plenty torquey enough

    Tlr 250 Oil

if using normal engine oil for cars ect im of the understanding that fully synthetic stuff is so slippery that it may cause clutch slip to a perfectly good clutch, use mineral or semi sinthetic.
  5. you say you added oil to the tank, am i right in thinking you added two stroke oil and not engine oil!!!!!
  6. they might be fantastick and nobody is selling them!!!!!!!!!

    Rotax Scorpa

if you thought mont was pricey you need to look at rotax parts for a real eye opener, if you can stretch for a sy with a yamaha motor you shouldnt regret it. early sy start in 2000 at about a grand.
  8. you can get spokes from birkets, they sell spokes and niples seperatly. about about a quid a spoke + nipple of course.
  9. irate land owners are only part of the problem, nobody wants there bike confiscated and crushed.
  10. you will be lucky to find anywhere legal in your area but try this link to back cowm quarry . http://cowmleisure.com/Cowm%20Leisure%20Homepage.htm about 30 miles from you and will cost a tener a day per rider, big quarry with lots of space for everyone. if you find somwhere legal in your area let me know as i havent found anything either. alan in skelmersdale

    Scorpa Sy250

yup out 2000 but value as always on condition, got one myself and still run superbly no hickups flat spots or reliability problems.
  12. hey rapid roy if tack a look it says 10000 miles on me road bike, road being the operative word here. for trials id recomend more frequent changes but still use the same oil.
  13. i have always used 10/40 motor oil in all me road going yamaha 2 strokes gearbox's same in me scorpa, if you change regular you shouldnt have any problems. 10000 miles between changes on road bike so a few trials aint gona tax the oil to its limit now is it.

    04 Beta 270

how about crankshaft oil seal, oil getting past the seal from your gearbox, sounds about right for the simptons
  15. you can test fan by simply shorting out the two wires at the bottom of the radiator with the motor runing. it will get hot under tick over but it will take a long time for the fan to kick in. also i doute you will have done the head gasket unless you really cooked the motor, remember its a yamaha motor and not as fickel as some other brands you see on here.if water was leaking from there i cant see how it could get into the combustion chamber as as pressure from the cylinder would usally push things out not suck them in. head gasket is about
  16. mine does it too 01 model, i wouldnt worry it not often you see a scorpa post on here with engine trouble of any kind.

  18. im in skelmersdale wn8 postcode inbetween liverpool and wigan, cheers
  19. i really dont mind paying for a place i can use legally like back cowrn quarry, just cant find many places to go, i have friends who have just sold up because its too much hassel finding somwhere, and others who have bike sat around gathering dust. we need a national database of places to go , back cowrn quarry seams to be doing it right as whenever i have been there have been loads of bikes there. im sure if you do it right there is money to be made and its good for the sport as a whole.
  20. it seams to me that trials is in a bit of a decline, im sure this is in no small part due to lack of practice grounds. they are out there but very hard to find unless you already know somebody who is using one. take a look on e-bay and see how many bike are for sale due to lack of time (read cant find anywhere to play without the old bill turning up and spoiling things). how about a dedicated section on here of where you can go and maybe some sort of map, this will help encorage people to get out and practice and then maybe actualy enter the odd event or two. i live in skelmersdale and the only place local i can find is cowrn quarry (45 miles away ) which is very good but would i also like to practice on differant grounds mud ect. anybody got any other idears!!!!
