    I have fitted some trick bits to my bike : Swinging arm covers, fork protectors, Frame protectors, but the carbon look has already started to fade.

    yes that has happened to me too. Just leave them on as they are still protecting the bike and as long as the plastic doesn't wear through then your OK.
