April 21, 200719 yr hey all I have hust bought a 290 sherco and wondering what the fuel ratio is on it. thanks jack h
April 21, 200719 yr I seem to remember the mix stated in the manual is 2% (50:1??) However i use about 60-70:1 Hope this helps not long now till you'll decide to ditch the beta and get a 125 sherco
April 21, 200719 yr Ratio should be 50:1 or 60:1. Getting the carburation correct for your riding style is the most important thing. (If you ride round on low revs a lot you probably need to weaken the carb. If you use lots of revs you may need to ritchen it up. Also altitude makes a massive difference) Remember the oil is there to lubricate the engine. If the bike doesn't run crisp and clean and there seems to be oily deposits in the exhaust it is not the amount of oil you've put in thats the problem it's that you running the bike too rich
April 21, 200719 yr Author Are you really planning on riding a 290 Jack? NO IM NOT! Its my dad's. Ive had a go on it and it way to powerful (scary)
April 22, 200719 yr "80:1 with synthetic oil and high test pump gas" is the best for these bikes......Remember you can't clean out a Shreco exhust box. So you must keep the gunk levels as low as possible. Best of balance. Neo Edited April 22, 200719 yr by Neo
April 22, 200719 yr Good show, Neo, keep it clean! The excess oils and carbon just build up in a trials motor and exhaust. There are some simi -synthetic oils that work well too, but , well you know!
April 22, 200719 yr Thanks copemech, I just have to keep putting these messages out there. So 2nd hand buyers end up with better bikes all round. We also have to keep in mind that we're riding a hightech engines.....and not a flipping lawn mower Best of balance. Neo
