October 1, 200718 yr I went to look at a new bike today from a bloke and all seemed fine until oil started leaking from what appeared to be the engine breather pipe???? I am sure this is not normal as i have never seen this before on a trials bike?? There was say a glass full on the floor. Is there a reason for this? I walked away but was I right to?
October 2, 200718 yr Happens when they run backwards. What colour was it? Fresh oil or slightly milky?
October 2, 200718 yr Yes, it happens if overfilled, but it can also happen if the breather isn't run up over something. Some riders have had the breather dribble on the rear shock and incorrectly thought the shock had blown!
October 3, 200718 yr vent pipe should be looped over the carb inlet , if you just leave it hanging low it will spew your oil out . my first experience of "fixing" my sherco ....... pity it was my stupidity that caused the problem in the first place
October 3, 200718 yr Author Oil was coming from coming out of the breather at the back of the bike. It was pointing straight down. It was fresh oil that was coming out. Was enough to make me think twice. Walked away in the end. Thanks for all the advice
