  1. My gas cap hose is drenching the bike with fuel and making a mess of everything. Any suggestions?
  2. When it is all taken in to consideration, are the 4 strokes really more environmentally friendly? Does anyone consider the following: building them-more materials, more energy to produce all those extra parts, more maintenance and the parts required for that, oil changes and disposal of used oil and filters. What does all that add up to?
  3. It's all about the price....
  4. Check out:trailers I have the 56 series and love it. They have smaller ones that weigh about 450 lbs.
  5. Get a set of fat bar adapters, they will add some rise, about 3/4" I think. Then get a set of pro tapers in the suzuki factory bend. This combo is very close to renthal kuroyama 7/8" bars Should cost around $125 u.s. dollars for the whole setup
  6. Don't forget to remove the flywheel cover and let everything in there dry out real well.
  7. We had a trial years ago, about the third section was a fairly deep mud/water hole. So this rider crashes right in the middle of the slop, falls off and gets completely covered in mud and water. A few sections later (mind you this trial was at a sawmill) there was a huge sawdust pile that had been layed out as part of the section. This guy gets to the top of the pile, does a full dismount and rolls to the bottom. He looked like he was tarred and feathered! He was not happy to say the least, but it was pretty funny.

    Bearings

The Sherco manual says (KBK 16x20x18) although that is for the 2007 model. The bearing is not listed in the 2006 manual.

Go to www.shercousa.com Look under the tab: service info In there you will find the parts manuals, and the bearing size is probably listed. When you say small end bearing size are you referring to the crank?
  10. If its leaking through the spokes, its more than likely the stem. It seeps through there and comes out the spokes. I have had some success with replacing the valve with one with a larger diameter stem where it contacts the rim band. I modify ones made for car wheels.
  11. I think Commo's carry them.
  12. I think the penalty for late registration is way over priced and that the NATC is hurting themselves by making it so high. I think they should make it about $25 or so, with ALL the late fees going to the sponsoring club, because they are the one's who have to take care of the extra signup duties etc.
  13. Get yourself a set of fat bar adapters. They will give you 3/4" of rise, so take that into account when purchasing bars. I used to run the factory suzuki bend by pro taper. With the adapters, they are almost identical to the Kuroyama renthal bend.
  14. I've had that problem and it was just a water pump seal(s). I wouldn't panic until you check them.
  15. Is there going to be an OHV sticker requirement for the Colorado national? I got my entry forms back and there is nothing stated on there, however the event website says they are required in Colorado.
  16. So I see they're going to charge me another $50 bucks to park and ride? RIDICULOUS! The NATC raises the entry to $100 per day and justifies it by saying they have to make up for having less rounds. Does anyone actually think the NATC will lower the entry if there are 10-12 rounds next year? HA! Not a chance.
  17. GOOD LUCK! I had what they call golf elbow, just the opposite of tennis, its on the lower side of the arm. (I don't even play golf) I think I got it from playing hockey. Anyway I couldn't bring myself to rest it, so it ended up taking a year to heal. Of course I'm sure the younger you are, the quicker it will heal. The worse thing it caused was arm pump, which I attribute to overusing the surrounding muscles to compensate. There are some devices you can put around your arm and snug up, these helped me somewhat, especially if I was working out. I started taking coral calcium and my symptoms went away in a few weeks. Now I'm not saying it cured it, but I had it for a year and started on the cc and it went away. You decide, its cheap to try.
  18. Bolts are normally given in size (Diameter x pitch) and length. I measure the diameter, to get the first, then use a pitch gage on the threads for the second. If no pitch gage is available, you can carefully measure the distance between two thread crests. Here in the states we have to juggle between SAE and metric so you must be carefull when someone hands you a bolt and they don't know the size.
  19. I recently broke a finger playing ice hockey. It's much better now, I can ride, but it throbs when its cold. Will this ever go away or is it something I will have to live with?

Well, I knew Turtle fairly well being in contact with him since 1984. I really don't think I have words that are worthy to display my emotions both for him and his very best riding companion. However, when I passed the tragic news of his passing to a close friend, he had the following to say: Quote: "I am stunned. When I went to my first D6 meet, Turtle is the first person to approach me, introduce himself and others, and made me feel welcome. That's the kind of guy he was. He rode a TY250 then. He loved trials, and I guess it really makes me think. He died on his trials bike. He'll be missed and remembered. Thanks Westy, I think you summed up Gale very well....
