  1. Put a crank up vent in. Most come with a screen in place. They're about $30 dollars on ebay.
  2. Santa has spyware too now!
  3. Does anyone know who the stuntman was?
  4. I helped set up the Motorama event the last few years it was held. Last year they wanted us to pay $10,000. I don't think that much could be raised even if it were a national event.
  5. If you missed this event, sorry about your luck. Aaron and Andy put on a great event. The sections were very challenging and fun. The picnic that followed was great also. Thanks guys, job well done.
  6. Mine went out Monday. Sorry for the delay...
  7. Does anyone know where the individual scores are?
  8. I think we all need to look at the big picture here. IF it was your favorite brand being copied, would you be happy? I think not. Chinese knock offs are a threat to all of us. You get what you pay for, as many who have purchased the chinese atvs have found out.
  9. Yes, it happens if overfilled, but it can also happen if the breather isn't run up over something. Some riders have had the breather dribble on the rear shock and incorrectly thought the shock had blown!
  10. I just got around to reading this forum after skipping it from the beginning. Lots of good info! I'll put in my 2 cents. Take the gasket off fuel cap and make one the same size out of rubber. The stock one is way too hard. Mark I saw that chain, shame on you. We ride in an area of coal mining, the ground is very acidic, and after a power washing you park the bike and come back the next day and the chain is bright orange. I have found the Klotz KLR chain lube works nicely to protect the chain, almost like a clearcoat. Not wild about its lubrication properties, so I just mainly use it to protect the side plates and use some other chain lube on a regular basis. Most problems with the rim band leaking I have traced to the valve stems, the base is just too small! I have remachined some automotive ones with success (the base is twice as big). I rethread the whole thing the same size as the valve cap. I run ATF in the front forks and really like it. I have been using Copemech's swingarm guards all season, and they still look like new!
  11. No, but one dab should get you through the whole section!
  12. I try not to ride the same sections all the time. Once I can clean a section, I make it harder, on the opposite, if I can't get through it with a decent 3, then I make it easier. Riding with good friends makes all the difference to me. Without them, I'm bored in no time. I'm 41 and I still think I am getting better all the time. I'm not as much of a risk taker anymore, but my technical riding is better than ever IMO.
  13. I use ATF, and have good results with it.
  14. Running 93 octane BP fuel and elf 2 stroke oil, 80:1. Funny thing is, the bike never fouled a plug for the first 6 months running the same setup.

    Fouling Plugs!

My '07 2.9 has been fouling plugs as of late, generally after about 4 hours of riding. When I pull the plug it is black and sooty. However the bike runs fine for several hours, it doesn't act blubbery, actually pings a little at about 1/4 throttle. I am running v force reeds and 36 on the pilot and 120 on the main. I tried leaning it out on the clip, but it runs too lean then. I have a feeling my silencer is loaded up with goo. Could this cause the plug fouling condition? And if so, how would I go about cleaning out the silencer? It was suggested to me to go out and run a bunch of hill climbs, but where I ride there's not much in the way of big long hills. I tried the iridium plug also with the same results. Running a BP5ES right now. Any ideas?????
  16. Try here: http://www.protaper.com/contents/products/handlebars/se.html All the specifications are listed.
  17. Get yourself a pair of master link pliers. They are really slick. they have an offset jaw on one side, and a half moon cut out on the other. Of course, if your cheap like me, you take an old pair of pliers and make your own!
  18. You haven't mentioned the sherco, in my opinion, very close to the gasser in characteristics, but better build quality.
  19. If you liked the gasser, sherco is the way to go. It will be similar, but less work to do. I used to ride Beta's, thought the world of them. Switched to Sherco last year, first off I thought I made a huge mistake, but the more I got used to the Sherco, the more I could do and bigger stuff too. I tried an 07 270 Beta early this year but felt like I was always forced too far forward. I can't seem to ride the Beta and keep my weight back. However, the build quality of the Beta is probably second to none, if they would just get rid of the mikuni and go with dellorto. (my 2 cents). The best bike for me is the Sherco, it has elevated my riding level tremendously. The bike is an absolute rocket!
  20. I generally use the back brake if stationary. You can rock back against it, also when doing front wheel hops you can have a tendency to back up, which could cost you a five.
  21. D6 in Pa. used to run from Feb to Oct. but Motorama got taken out of the picture this year. Now we're not starting until May! Sh^&! Maybe Motorama will change their minds next year. I'm hoping! The group I practice with, we only missed about 4 weekends all winter due to snow. D6 used to have some events in January, went well for a few years, but then got snowed out several years in a row and the idea was scrapped.
  22. i doubt that it will cost
  23. I bounced one off a rock, sanded it on a flat plate, filed out the o ring groove, and it seems fine. Although I haven't tried it yet. Bought a new one, as I recall, it was about $50 dollars.
  24. Backed mine out 2 clicks, left the spring alone.
