i have always had Michelin rear tyres, but the local shops cant seem to get any at the moment, so, i was thinking of trying one of the new dunlops, they are the same price or maybe even an IRC?

just wondering if anybody had tried the new dunlops or an IRC and how they compare to the Michelin.

any feedback (good or bad)

i have used michelins over the years and they are good tyres no problems at all.im now using a rear dunlop which i cant fault at all good soft compound like a michelin good value for money.they reckon on a dunlop tyre when you puncture tyre the flat tyre does not come off rim when riding flat.ian austy rode in scott last year on a flat dunlop from last petrol stop to finish so they say.

NYL likes the IRC's He rates them above the Michelin. The main reason we started using them was that they were supposed to be better in muddy conditions but He likes them on rocks as well. The Dunlop has a reputation for being hard to puncture and it really hates coming off the rim. Up to last year it wasn't as good as the Michelin/IRC on grip but it seems they have improved although the bullet proof reputation isn't as good on the newer tyre. I know one dealer kept a couple of the "old" dunlops for riders in the SSDT and Scott.

We ride on mainly clay and chalk and find IRC the best,they still grip reasonably when worn as well.Don't know what they do on rocks because we don't have any.Some of us use VRUBBER which are cheaper and are as good but you have to run 2 psi rear as the side walls are stiffer.Don't know about the Dunlop but the first Dunlop D803 were inferior to the IRC on our ground

do they make the Dunlops in a tubed tire?

My Scorpa came with Michelins as standard but when I replaced the rear I put an IRC on. It's a goood tyre and does grip well in the wet. But let's be honest, for mere mortals they are probably as good as each other and when you replace a rear they always feel better than the one you've just ditched because it was sh**ged. I can vouch for the fact that it stays on the rim when flat. I have got a leaking rim tape and it runs perfectly with zero air.

Hi, I haven't tried Dunlop but can recommend IRC on the rear, better in the mud and are softer that Michelin so are better in the dry as well. IRC all day long!!!
