Would like to update the steering on my original Godden framed Majesty, and thanks to someone on here have found a top guy able to do it for me. However the mods I have asked about would be quite costly (

I agree with Bo Drinker. One of the best things about my (standard) Godden Majesty is the way the steering works. I would not change it for anything.

I thought it would be easier and cheaper to change the angle myself, rather than looking for a set of forks from a later bike, which I suppose is going to have exactly the same effect?

Changing forks doesn't change the steering head angle.

cheers,

Michael

Not sure on this, but think the later forks are leading axle, and also have different fork yokes, just thought it would be less costly to change the angle by altering the head angle as detailed on here in previous posts, rather than looking for the later forks? What have you found are the main benefits of using modern geometry on the trials frame projects you have been involved with?

I covered all of those questions from you in various posts over the last week or so. Those answers are still good, and you should be able to search out my posts and find them pretty quickly. That would be a faster answer for you than me typing them over again.

cheers,

Michael

Sorry I did read your posts quite carefully but couldnt find anything relating to how your felt your own bike performed after you had changed the geometry so that it would be closer to modern settings. Personally I dont have that much understanding of all the technical details you have provided, so am mainly interested to hear how bikes you have modified handled before and after you made the changes?

Finally, well said Woody.

I remember my first ride on a Majesty (after riding 3 standard TY's into the ground) and thinking what a bike, handles like a dream.

Do all the smaller Majesty frames have the same geometry as those intended for the bigger bikes? Saw a very nice Majesty 200 at Fell Green on Sunday, which seemed quite a bit different to by bike.
