howardnewman Posted May 7, 2008 Report Share Posted May 7, 2008 Dear All, I am now the proud owner of what I am told is a Yamaha Whitehawk TY175 and as all newcomers to a sport have some questions. First is how do I know it is a Whitehawk, the seat/tank unit has a W embossed on the left side but how do I check/date the frame? The top tube is square and has some markings which read 83 YW SOxx xxx does this mean a 1983 Yamaha Whitehawk with what looks like a Southampton post code? The 1983 ties in with the engine number also being 1983. The first thing it needs is an air filter, where do I buy this and other spares from but the most important thing is where can I ride it? I want to spend as little as possible money on this but a meeting once a month with like minded people sounds appealing. One last question, how do I download a picture?
