just bought 3.2 sherco does anyone has tips for service?

also riding tips are welcome (i am used to 4 stroke power) egg what gear to use for tight sections and mud 1 or 2nd ?

anything special for starting the bike?

what oil to use?

it comes with trp/jitsie rear shock better than original?

I've not got a 4t (or had one) but ridden a fair while. I found in mud that i knocked it up to 3rd and 4th to get more feel.

I still fancy a 4t, but never sure they sorted the warm starting for sure. Let us know how you find it.

You would want to ck the manuals at the sticky note on the top of the Sherco threads, the RYP site for the maint. tips.

My brief experience on one suggests they will pull in any gear! Take your choice! Not the bike, just the avaibility of traction, as in certain situations, you simply have to maintain some momentum as with any!

As Mark stated they pull in any gear. 3rd is great for general riding, 2nd is great for most any section, 1st when it is really tight and slow.

If you want to race through the woods put it in 4th and hang on.

Riding the 4T is a blast more fun than any bike I have ever owned!

My 08 sometimes takes 4 or 5 kicks to start cold. Hot, it usually starts on the first kick. If I stall it, normally the 2nd or 3rd, sometimes the first kick.

I rarely give it any gas to start. Mine likes a fairly high idle and the air screw is critical around 1/2 turn out is a good starting place.

I REALLY like the 4T, my 08 is for sale and I am going to get an 09 4T in the spring. It will be on the Sherco USA's 2nd container.

Hi I agree with wayne on his points I to have an 08 sherco 4T it will pull in any gear it is also a great laugh and confidence giver,

As I have said earler on my forums it is the best bike I have also had.

on the starting front from cold I turn the idle screw a full turn clockwise with no throttle and it starts first or second kick let it warm up then turn the idle screw anti clockwise to set your desired tickover, if you have any problems when hot repeat this way and this starts mine again first or second kick

We used to have XR400's and one of the things we learned to do to get them started was to turn the idle screw up 1 full turn. This might help with those people who are having trouble starting the 4T.
