Boots?

having had another 'moment' this weekend, i have suffered further damage to my already knackered ankle, which now has the strength of a curly wurly thats been left out in the sun.

my question is, which boots provided the best ankle support? i currently use gaerne oileds, which are great but dont provide that much support.

i dont really want to go to MX boots as these are too restrictive.

so what do you think?

sounds like an expensive way of doing it but would it be possible to get an oversized boot and put an ankle brace on? I have the same boots as you and I agree that there is no support. my hebo's before were thicker but I wouldnt say much better.

wish you hadnt mentioned curly wurly....im off to the shops now.....

Maybe try one of these to start with before you get new boots?

661 Ankle brace

I use a pair of them for mountain biking as i've done the ligaments in my ankle a few times. They work really well and don't affect the fit of your boots. You can also get another version that comes with an insole attached but i find the standard "pro" model fine.
