The warmest Xmas Day up there for a long time!

Good sections laid out, well I think so,

steady away for the clubmen, a couple of tricky ones for the hard

course lads.

Any lads that are riding the club/acu would appreciate your feedback,

GOOD OR BAD,

Please do let us know.

Have a good day

Stuart

Cracking trial, cold and frosty start but then the sun came out to warm the observers up a little bit :wall:

3 laps of 10 sections in a 4-hour time limit, 1 observer, no stopwatch, no daft sections - plenty of tricky ones that took plenty of dabs though!

FIM rules? I really enjoyed watching the top lads hopping and bopping around before launching the bike up a huge step. Clubby riders didn't need any fancy stuff on their sections but the rules still get a big 'thumbs-up' from me.

Well done to BDMC for having the balls to try summat different at club level. Thanks to all the organisers and observers for yet another good day out with the lads. Happy New Year :o

Well, to all those that gave us "no chance" the day went REALLY well,

and a great positive response from both riders and observers.

I took a poll from most of the riders after laps 1/2 when I could catch them.

RESULT

FOR FIM "type" rules 54

AGAINST ( ACU TSR22/22A ) 7

ABSTENSIONS (??????) 1

No co-ersion, just the question

"Which rules would you like to ride trials under?"

The results speak for themselves.

A good few put the point that how can the British hope to compete

at world level when they dont normaly get the chance, and that point did NOT

always come from the younger or may I say capable end!

Some sections were VERY slippy, however that is

situation normal for Howden Wood, even in the summer !!

The time limit never even came into the equation and could be monitored by 1

observer per section with a stopwatch with time limit alarm.

Thank you to all that had faith in BDMC who came and rode, observed, spectated. I and the club was really pleased with today, the weather was good, the sections spot on, (but I have to say that) and the feedback BRILLIANT.

As for the FIM rules if you want the change, and it ishould be up to the riders, get to your clubs/centres and ask for the change.

If you dont ask you dont get they say !!!!

waiting for the mortars :-)

To tell thi the truth lad, we have ridden the stop without penalty rules for the past two seasons, ower here in the colonies, and they seem to have the least amount of complaints from both riders and observers.

At club level the stop watch is not required at all.

Going and riding full no stop in the ssdt this year also was no problem and if I got docked a five for stopping it was because I couldn't go forward anymore :wall:

On a side note Stu, the point about how can Brittish riders expect to ride world championship events when they ride under differen't rules is bull!! that fact should be left out of all decision making of rules at club level, do what the clubman want, the world riders can look sort themselves out.

Ish, over 60% clubmen riders today they gave the answer.

so that is what the clubmen want.

Most dont mind the 1 for a stop, but to get most of

the way thro a section and get a 5 only 1 yard from ends they HATE

Today was a trial in 2 ways, see what the riders want, see how it went.

The riders said what they wanted
