October 1, 200916 yr I am making a comeback to trials soon on a twinshock. I now live in Gloucester, are there any clubs which run twinshock classes locally? Do I need to wear a crash helmet these days?
October 1, 200916 yr Should be plenty of Trials around Glos, have a look on the Western Centre ACU site, shows all the Trials for the year and neighbouring centres, why would,nt you want to wear a crash helmet? pretty sure you have to now, amazes me anyone would ride without one
October 1, 200916 yr Author No issue with wearing one other than I dont have a trials lid. I have full face helmets but no trials lid. I thought it was compulsary in ACU events but still optional in AMCA?
October 1, 200916 yr Not sure on that mate, you'll be nice and close in Glos to BVM Moto, loads of spares and clothing based in Stroud
October 1, 200916 yr The Golden valley club have a trial on Sunday if you are interested, usually quite a varied selection of bikes/abilities. Its at Climperwell farm 2 miles south of Birdlip on the B4070. I'll be wobbling round on my Ty - if its dry on the hard route, wet it'll be the easy route. Its AMCA,and you are required to wear a helmet.
October 1, 200916 yr Author I live about 2 miles south of Birdlip!!! I'll be there but as a spectator. Bike is still a pile of parts.
October 1, 200916 yr You,ve got Nettleton - Agges Hill and Killkenny all within a stones throw away for practice then
October 1, 200916 yr Hi - You also have Bath Classics and Cheltenham Hawks locally who have twinshock classes. http://www.hawksmc.org.uk/ http://www.railuk.info/bcmcc/index.php Which particular twinshock are you rebuilding/riding?
October 1, 200916 yr Author I know kilkenney and nettlton as I ran a C90 endurance mx race there a couple of years back but not agges. I have a Fantic 200 that I am going to put back together. Funny story really, I actually had a dream about 6 or 7 years ago that I had a fantic 200 in my parents shed. It was that real that I called my dad in the morning and had him go out and check. I did! Its a real dog but its the basis of my machine. My dad recons I was given it when I was a kid and its sat there ever since. had a similar dream about a DB9 but that didnt come true.
October 2, 200916 yr The Evesham club have three routes and they have a club trial at Hancocks Wood at the top of Fish Hill Broadway next week.
October 4, 200916 yr Author I had a bimble about in the woods this morning with my daughter. Meet a couple of very very friendly people and now cannot wait formy first event. The sections looked perfect for my ability. I think I'd do ok on the hard course, I'll get a few hours under my belt before I decide.
October 4, 200916 yr I was riding there today and just realised JonV8 may have been. Yep,probably my best ever ride - came 2nd on the hard route on 10,7th overall.Totally chuffed, pity we didnt meet up Bo.
