Hi,

How do you fit the spring to the side stand on a 270 without having a hernia. I'm guessing there's an easy way but can't work it out. All advise will be welcome before I have to invite the local tug-of-war team round.

don't know about bike specifc but normal tool is an old wire coat hanger with stand in least tension position

Gday, or you can pack coins or washers into the spring at each coil to get it long enough to drop on, then put the stand down and the coins will fall out. Too easy.

Thanks for the replies, I sat down with a cuppa and thought about it, then took off the bracket. Fitted the whole lot together first and found the spring had less distance to travel and got it on ok. Then it was easy to pull the stand down and push back on, then bolt the bracket on again. So anyone with a similar problem...... try a cup of tea first!
